A personal view point.
Whilst it’s good to see AFC to rise from the ashes, just remember you not the ‘only club in the village’ and the rest of us entitled to a share of the resources available!
KPSS
That's better in a nut shell, less provocative I hope!!
And on that bombshell goodbye!

As an AFC R&D fan who likes to read this forum to check up on goings on in the league that we will be entering next year, I have noted on several occasions what can only be deemed to be "anti-AFC" posts from yourself KPSS, but this one really does take the biscuit. Some of what you wrote there was quite simply slander. Who the heck are AFC R&D supposed to of raped/pillaged? As for harassment - although I've got no knowledge of what the commercial team at the club do, asking for sponsorship once is not harassment! I put it to you that you are simply trying to stir up anti-AFC R&D feeling within the UCL and turn the club into the new 'Big Boys to Hate' now that Kings Lynn are leaving. Of course perhaps by posting this I'm adding fuel to your fire - it was no-doubt a calculated decision to put this topic in the "guests can post" section. Personally I think that if you took all the energy that you use for criticising others and put it into your own club, then they would be a lot better off - are there no seats to clean or rails to paint down at Klin Park? Particularly if the rumours about the identity of the next club that you are planning to take in are true....

KPSSWATCHER. I think you should take the time to read KPSS thread properly before you cast the wrong aspersions! I did read it, several times, but I believe that "Whilst many of us (including myself) understand and are tolerant about what you want achieve" is just designed by the poster to make his/her radical viewpoint seem balanced and well thought-out. Readers take note - the "personal viewpoint" above is only one person's opinion!

I do have to say it seems a bit odd that they would 'harass anyone for sponsorship? After all with the promise of massive support, bigger than ours apparently, would more than finance them at this level and maybe higher?

I suppose rape and pillage is a bit strong really for the sensitive types, how about smash and grab or ram raid? This is forum for personal views mate, whether one likes it or not as long as it not abusive or personal. My thread is clearly pitch to allow the current issues as I see and hear to be debated and allow others to express views. Clearly some the views that will be expressed will be a little eyebrow rising to say the least. Looking at very recent history the amount **** thrown at Kings Lynn on here as a result of actions of a minority associated with them, should be a lesson to us all perhaps? Oh yes, I`m being high almighty so what! The fact is through the grapevine a lot of clubs, mainly youth, are deeply worried about losing their good players they have spend a lot time nurturing from very young, only see them tempted away by empty promises of better fulfillment. I accept this is part and parcel of football, but the reality is only a tiny few actually make it big time. Kids should be enjoying football and not pressured into building up some club's ego! Also, the big difference here compared to other pushy club is the shear scale of AFC endeavors to lure players is a worrying factor as well. That's not slander mate that is criticism of your tactics coupled with request that you show some respect for other clubs.

I think we are all guilty in 'harassing' or pursuing potential sponsors but it was the way the person pitched it a friend of mine that wasn't liked.

we are all entitled to a share of the resources available Why are you entitled? What have you done to try and attract sponsorship to your club? Perhaps the reason AFC have been so successful in getting sponsorship is that they have got out there and put a decent proposition together that people have been attracted to. As for raping and pillaging Youth teams didn't Raunds Town send a team to another local club to play one of their two new squads at next seasons U12, both of whom have been imported wholesale from other youth clubs. So you can't cry about it on one hand while condoning it on the other. It would be interesting to note how many players you think have joined AFC R&D from other Youth clubs in the area.

And also how you think we have given empty promises! We have made a commitment to make sure that as many players as possible who turn out for the first team also came through our youth ranks, starting with the 4 that have been promoted for next season, we also offer a range of teams for each age group in order to get all kids involved, not just the best!

Yawn A personal view point. Having only been on this board for a very short amount of time I'm come to believe that KPSS must be really bitter about something in life... I just can't put my finger on it...

I liked the thread title, you've had plenty of chances/ years to build your club from the bottom up. Who said life was fair? If it was we wouldn't have lost our club to a bloke from Essex. We're here to do the best we can with the resources at our disposal, it's your job to catch us if you can. If a potential sponsor has been upset by our approach he should tell us. We'll apologise and give him a better deal.
