I echo the question you pose in other threads - where exactly does the FA think the money will come from to achieve all this? Do they assume that all the people that run clubs at this level out of the goodness of their hearts will just simply put more time in?
I've dealt with Lancaster Gate (as was). They were idiots then and I see no reason to vary my opinion.

So is it D for Step 4? Yes. I think so as at the top of the Ground Regulations Grading it says Clubs should be aware that they will have to achieve Grade D no later than March 31st following promotion to Step 4. The Garde E regulations are very tough! Toilets inside the ground? Turnstiles (There in the process of putting them in at NP)? and im not sure if the stand is big enough at NP (again in the process)?

I,ve been reading this thread (and others) for quite a while now with a great deal of interest, hopefully the powers that be at all ucl clubs are aware of the fast approaching deadlines for ground gradings, but it seems to me that some are just burying heads in the sand and hoping it all goes away, funding some of the things that are required seem over the top, but clubs are able to get upto a ceiling of £100,000 for step 6, for ground improvements, ok maybe the hoops you have to jump through might seem unneccessary, but if somebody else is picking up bill, its gotta be worth a try, and at the end of the day (as the saying goes) the club is the winner.

I think perhaps some clubs may be thinking.. do your worst FA, the club will go on but at a different step! Step 7 may seem more of an attractive option when faced with providing 45% of the money before anyone says yes to the other bit! Most clubs are trying (and some succeded) however I cant think of any Prem club who does not have a programme in place and I am sure that is also true of Div one clubs. HOWEVER at the end of the day and deadline passed will the FA have enough clubs for the total restructure of step 5 (down to 12 leagues) and step 6? That after the creation of the new northern division at step 4. Already leagues at step 5 can be run with only 20 teams (FA was insisting on 22) and step 6 minimum is 16 clubs. With only 30 matches at this level..... you only use the floodlights once or twice a season!!! and your 150 seater stand?? will it ever be full?? Seems to me that the FA need to be more specific in the assistance (the dosh) and fast track the money to help clubs at this level.

I suppose with the amount of time the fa are taking to sort all this out, another u turn cannot be ruled out,but its good to know that clubs are planning for the future, but some div 1 clubs are unable to meet criteria for step 6 now and are awaiting their fate,if any, as the u turn may see an easing of conditions? dos,nt help clubs one bit as the uncertainty is very unsettling.

I think it very likely that the FA will be doing a u turn for at least another season. They handled Wembley so well what makes anyone think that they can restructure non league football without more delays!

what makes anyone think that they can restructure non league football without more delays! They are doing it (with delays..) by stealth. between steps 1 and 2, they inserted another level the Conference National, and they have upgraded the Midland Comb and the West Midlands Prem to step 6 from step 7, but left the Leicester Senior, Friar lane will be glad, but a kick in the teeth for the LSL teams that have got their grounds up to Standard. it may seem far fetched now but it wouldnt surprise me if come May, we (Sleaford), dont get out of this division, we would be asked to join a new upgraded (and expanded) Central Midlands League at step 6 - not as far to Nettleham, Southwell or Radcliffe all about 20 miles
