In Div1 there are some clubs without lights , most notably Whitworths ( current champions ) Alot of talk , hope , possible dates etc etc But nothing really definite from a few clubs Are there any clubs due to have lights put up in the foreseeable future or at the end of season or next year ? Is it a definite ? I think having lights is where your hopes and dreams lie ? A club about to have lights installed , can claim to be a club wanting to move forward and attract new players ? No matter what has happened in the past , whether they have done well or not as this can all change ? Getting lights is an opportunity ( kick start ) for a club to progress and blow off a few cobwebs and stigmas ? Breathe fresh air into recruitment of players , training and club mentality ? A chance to show some ambition , want to really push on ? The talk doesn't have to be about getting promoted to the premier division but a chance to compete and do well in division one ? I think players want to train and play under lights and a club having new lights installed should be given praise as they must want to improve themselves ? Thats called ambition isn't it Any news then ? OR any opinions on some of the question marks above ?

Agree with your post.
The strange thing for me is that clubs in Div 1 are now required to have lights yet there are hardly enough teams in the league to justify them! I know they allow for a 3pm KO in the winter but does that warrant the cost of lights?

It warrants for a midweek youth team and games , also training which then in turn should be making you an improved outfit ?

Was very impressed with the general attitude and atmosphere at Burton PW last week when i visited
Lights will be a massive boost for the club and a sign / symbol / reflection of the hard work that goes in week in week out behind the scenes that nobody sees especially from the outside ?
I think people on the outside just get used to the idea of BPW being a bottom half of the table team / club and perhaps even restricts some players thinking when considering their options ?
It shouldn't do
I know the young managers there are determined to improve the team and it's standing , they are really up for it
I could see that last week and thats all any player wants to see from their gaffers
BPW with lights , in the middle of Corby/Kettering -Wellingborough and just off the A14 i think provides players of all ages a different / new option ?
This is important ?
I was impressed with the team last week , some good players but they need more good decent players ( who doesn't ) if they are to become a good side in the division ?
If i were 18 - 30 ( i pretend to be ) thought i was good enough to play div1 and lived in the areas above then i would be considering it as a serous option ?
LIGHTS , CAMERA , ACTION , just my opinion and would like to hear others on this sort of stuff or my question marks ?

Well Scully me ole mucker training is on Tuesdays at the club and Thursday at Montsaye!! Come with Fitz!! Yes as said by Scott the lights are all sorted and hopefully up and running by the end of Jan. (like i said hopefully) Yes I do want the best and demand this, but this season has been really hard at the min. with all the off field work that we have had to do. Hopefully results will pick up now, I will hopefully be shopping for a new player next week . We have a good set of youth players coming through and like you said with the lights going up, this will only improve with our u18's being able to play under them and not just on a sunday afternoon. Alot these boys though are playing in our reservs and will be pushin hopefully for a place in the 1st team. We are already playing a 16 year old lad every week and he is very comfortable at his job!

Good stuff all that , sound very promising
With crowds over 50 at times aswell , while in your own words things not been great , could be some good times ahead .
With the lights on the way , possibly get some Fri night games 7.45 start of next season , get the crowds up to a ton, get the ******* Barby on the go and attract some more good players
Players love burgers !!!
More good players :
1 / Every team needs them , especially near the bottom 2 / Keeps current players on toes !!! 3 / Selection headaches and competition 4 / Last but not least - Chop dead wood !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With lights i defo see this as the start of a new era for any club
Also hopefully , players will give a club who are trying to improve themselves the opportunity .
As for Burton PW , i hope no - one minds me saying this but it is in a fantastic location
2 Min's from A14 5 Min's from wboro 5 Min's from Kettering 10 / 15 Min's from Corby
And close to alot of other places aswell !!!!!!
Promising Times

What does everyone else think of a club about to get lights ? As FF and CL have so far been only club that have responded to the thread , lets take Burton PW as an example 1 / What will it do for them short term 2 / Long term 3 / Help recruitment 4 / Youth 5 / Targets 6 / New era 7 / exciting times Would be good to hear views from anybody , but great from those with experience in the matter ? It's an interesting topic , because there's alot of talk about " who's getting lights etc " but there is never much spoke about the benefits and opportunity's it can offer / open ?

Due to unforeseen circumstances we at St Neots Town still have a good set of lights available for sale.
If anyone is interested please contact the club.

Thought Northern Star were buying them! Does that mean that they are now "lacking ambition", or has the Council at Peterborough backed down yet again!
