How can it be travelling expenses when you are being given a lift by another player from stevenage who wasnt getting expenses. But there are many ways of disguising payments in order to avoid the taxman just as there are many ways of a club getting a player transfered from one club to another club isnt there Mr Trevor Duncan. .......formerly of Desborough Town and Huntingdon Town now PNS .....all within 2 weeks ......has to be the shortest playing career at one club in UCL history isnt it? ?

Obviously nothing to do with me guys, another clubs affairs but I didn't realise that players at Huntingdon were receiving remuneration of some form for playing. If Whitworths paid even expenses they would go bust. Are there many teams in the 1st Div paying at least expenses?

I rotate my games between St Neots, St Ives, huntingdon, Godmanchester and Somersham. I can't believe that you are just a supporter Townie, I'm sorry it just dosn't hang right, some of the issues you defend would only be known by committee or above. I also believe Lord B must be amongst you as well, his knowledge also can't be gleaned from guess work. You both have far to much info to have us think its fan speculation. For what its worth, a couple of local based Huntingdon players told me that the Town manager gets money, he distibutes it between his out of town players, leaving none for the locals. But like I said only what Iv'e been told

Blimey fred you get about a bit dont you? Are you easily bored As I said nothing to do with me but I am intersted to know who gets what and more importantly how are they able to afford to pay because gates are frankly almost non existent. If we have 3 paid officials in Div 1 next year then that problem will be compounded.

Good observation fred but i unlike someone on here (townie) have never ever said whether i am or not anything to do with Town.......maybe i am a disgruntled insider or maybe i know someone on the inside who is very disgruntled. But if you look at whats going on up there its obvious that i care about it and just dont want to see it all go pear shaped ....this town needs a club like huntingdon town for breeding good local based players after all lets be honest about it if a local based player goes on to bigger an better things its nice to know that they were brought up and encouraged by their local team. I firmly believe that these out of towners are not at town for the right reasons hence my comments on here

Judge John, no not easily bored, just enjoy watching local football, a couple of things Iv'e noticed watching local football, 1. I could make a hell off a team out of the players that have slipped through Huntingdons hands, and 2. chatting to local supporters you get a good feel of whats hot and whats not. I meet lots of local supporters this way and enjoy the crack, there is a supporter at St Neots who perpetually shouts "come on Saints" and there is 4 or 5 old timers at Huntingdon iv'e nicked named "the old gits" and not forgetting the Godmanchester chairman who sounds like a fog horn. So thats why I get about a bit

Well said fred its good to see that theres more than 1 on here who feels like i do .......there is as you say some very good local players and i'm of the opinion that you could of made a hell of a team at huntingdon with local players. That is exactly what Lingy was trying to do and he was laying the foundations of a good side too. Unfortunatly the committee were'nt patient enough and wanted instant success, which in essence is great but we are all realists and know that doesnt happen unless you have a rich benefactor like chelsea. I think if you look on here and around locally the feelings towards towns committee is not good an they just wont accept they done wrong in getting rid of Lingy.

Just to sdd to this, last season WT2004 were almost all young lads from Wellingborough area. They got promoted, got rid of the local manager who went to Raunds, got rid of most of the local kids (whitworths had 2 or 3) and their gates have fallen significantly and it would not surprise me if financially they are now struggling when last year they seemed fine. Just an opinion of course but Whitworths profile is the highest it has been and the squad are mostly local lads. Could be a message there for clubs at this level

Sounds familiar john ......huntingdon town were all young local lads last season ....ok they didnt get promotion but were developing into a promising young side ........gates were quite good .......as in good local support .......now i'm afraid to say they seem to be following in the footsteps of goddy .......lets hope the message gets heeded sooner rather than later ay

lordbyron i think all your points are brilliant and i feel every football club needs someone as passionate as you appear 2 be. i must say that the difference between this season and last season is a huge difference, people i speak 2 seem so much more negative this season (towards the chairman not the manager) but the club seems 2 be getting so much negative press. also i would like 2 add that i have played for the first team this season and havnt recieved a penny, i didnt expect it last season and i didnt this season, pride is enough... as for the out of town boys i wouldnt like 2 comment but obviously u hear rumours that they are on money... i suppose only the chairman can answer that one

Thanks miltz ...... i just feel its such a shame what has gone on at town, its fair to say that they are not looking to bad in the league but if you have to take into account that the current manager was bleating on at the start of the season that in his words 'we will p...s this league' its not as easy as he thought which didnt exactly endear him to the locals. But i feel its the committee who have made town a no go team for locals so they have a lot to answer for. Lets see if the chairman(townie) does answer your question he's been very quiet on here lately. But on a better note lets hope martin rae can bring back the locals

C,mon LB you may have a point but youve made it now You are obviously passionate about Huntingdon Town, and I bet that you would be jumping for joy whichever manager managed to win the league/cups for you. nothing is going to be gained by raking over the past. if it all implodes, then is the time to say I told you so, but you are not bottom of the table, you're 6th, beat PNS recently which must have given some local satisfaction. your last 2 home gates were just under 3 figures, which means the fans are coming. you are still in the Hunts Premier cup with a Quarter final against Hampton coming up (which I would like to see myself) and a great facility/ground which can only get better with time. I think there are a few local teams who would love to be in your position
