Very true cam - Let me try to explain,
Everyone was told the strongest 11 would start - From what I believe. Then when preseason started at least 9-10 local players didnt want to train because it was to hard, especially on a tuesday. The training was based on league level because of Lee glovers (ex Nottingham Forrest and Scotland) knowledge. So all that would train was several local lads and players from out of town. PNS had to reluctantly let go of two quality players because they turned up drunk before several games, also two players wanted to play at prem level after they heard that the PNS ground had failed to get lights fitted this year. But in answer to your question - all are welcome

dont think you'll find the training being to hard a problem at huntingdon ..... i have said on here before that to be fair to paul swannell his training was very good lots of fitness work on tuesdays and none of the locals were bothered by that ....under 18s loved it.........it was the outsiders who wouldnt turn up but purely i feel because of distance. the concern is though moralbiffa will you all be going back if PNS were to suddenly get lights etc etc which would enable them to get into the prem? that would suggest that you will use huntingdon until such time PNS have the facilties to go into the prem hence town will be back to square one again.

With regards to the players turning up drunk that doesn't surprise me to be honest because if its the lads I'm thinking off they are good players but with a bad attitude!! Liability really, better off without them.

mr lordbyron you have a very good point with ref to commitement by players outside the green belt - guess time will tell. As for jumping ship back to PNS?
Well the dictionary states ; MORAL - Adhering to a code of behaviour that is considered to be right and acceptable - Jumping ship would be very immoral and one wouldnt be called moralbiffa if one were to lie to you now would one.
And Cam my friend
Lee Glover was very inspirational and helped set up the training programme for pre season last year and from what I hear is keen to help out when he can at Huntingdon if things develope. With ref the attitude players - greatest shame but its about the club, not the players

Moralbiffa
i dont think for one minute you would need to lie
however i do understand the meaning of the word moral but the concern is the BIFFA part
they are a WASTE MANAGEMENT company ha ha ....sorry couldnt resist that one please take that light hearted
but on a more serious note maybe you should learn a lesson from PNS in that if you want to play at a higher level do your homework on the club you are joining before signing up

This is a fantastic thread and as always seems to be the most contentious on the whole site. Clearly the Huntingdon faithful are upset about all the changes but your new man has not even started yet and he is having to explain himself for things he has not yet done...........very odd. The reality though is his remit I presume is Prem football and almost certainly not Prem football with all Huntingdon lads . If the local lads are not good enough to achieve that then he has a responsibility to bring in the talent that can achieve that.............not sure the Whitworth squad want to travel that far every week though ;D. Seriously though, good luck next year and lets hope you are all happier contributors

No one from huntingdon is asking him to explain himself JJ on the contrary ....if you look at both mine and ryan dohertys comments on here we wish him well and it seems most people are quite positive about next season with him.
Yes it is fair to say that the town lads are upset about all the changes and looking at their league position this year can you blame them.
Think the word they should look for is patience managerial changes season after season is not the answer .....personal observation thats all
think moralbiffa will back me here that i sincerely wish the new manager all the best for next season i hope he can achieve his own and huntingdon towns ambitions

PNS has given the manager some very good times and made some very good friends from what I gather since joining the club and am sure he would like to wish them all the success for the future if he leaves. And if he does go to huntingdon then you can be assured he will fight all the way to get it right with his strongest 11 from local to green belt hoppers doing what they do best - work hard and enjoy playing football

i dont think there is any substance in wondering where other managers would have finished. look at results of Swannell, formulate a valid and proportionate opinion based on the surroundings he was placed in. then analyse the fact that it is probably best that he is leaving. we say thanks to him and now act positively about the future without reducing our conversations to meagre unjustified hypothetical football nonsense.

True he was placed into a very difficult position but in my opinion did not do endear himself to locals at times but thats history now.
Theres a new kid in town now so time to move on and look to the future like ryan said no point in wondering where lingy would have finished.
As part of the under 18 management team for the past couple of seasons i hope i see former under 18 players having some part in the future success of town
