The structure at Whitworths denotes that the Reserve team is there to support the 1st team and to develop our young players, but at no time are they viewed as a seperate entity. The way things have gone this season the 1st team has remained quite settled but anyone from the Reserves who gets in the 1st team, plays well and the team wins generally tends to keep their place (James Gorman as an example) In all honesty the boys in the Reserves have done supurbly in recent weeks and why should they be left out just to play 1st team players? The Corby Scorpion (Scully) knows he can have access to the 1st team squad if he requires them but I agree with playing the lads who have done so well recently.

I can confirm that we shall not use 1st team players from now until the end of the season and i personally never intended to unless told to do so which wont happen anyway as myself and figo are of the same opinion. What is the gain at this stage?? arguably a better chance of finishing a couple of places higher THATS ALL where as by showing loyalty , respect and faith in the fringe and young players we have , we are sending out the message that Whitworths Fc will give young players the time and opportunity to become a better player.

The last 2 comments demonstrate to me why Whitworth FC are the team they are today and everyone concerned is extremely proud of the achievements these last 3 years. The club has gone from a fragmented group of people to a proper CLUB with a SQUAD. Not everyone likes the decisions because everyone wants to play but James Gorman, Deven Ellwood Luke Raftery are all players who were given a chance, played well and stayed in. Last season Danny Spaughton and Robert Foster struggled but knuckled down, were given a chance and Fozzie has 31 goals this season whilst Sporty has played every game. Good club worth being part of. ;D..................All volunteers, potential sponsors, welcome

Further update, reserves beat Fords and desborough last week and face woodford tonight..............lots of injuries though but protecting a 7 match winning run (9 wins in last 10), superscully after finishing with a straight 10 win run (3 games to go) . Incidentally, is there any team in any UCL Division that has taken 28 from last 30 points?

Once again its down to the players, they are giving it their best efforts. They are living in the shadow of the 1st team unbeaten season and if you've ever been involved in reserve foot you will know that player moral isn't always the best , because they want to be in the 1st team!! this is natural and happens at every club? so for the boys to have knuckled down as they have is quite an effort.I'm proud of them all.Tonight we won with midfielders playing centre halfs, and forwards playing wing cos of injuries and their attitude to helping the cause for ones so young must give whitworths res an excellent base to drive on next season and win rd1.Unfortunately due to traveling commitments i dont think i will be around to see it, if not the new manager next season will inherit a great bunch of very young players who have competed so well this year on their own without much supplementing from 1st team players.Well done boys

If you do feel the need to move on next season it will be Whitworth's loss. I have watched most of the reserve games since you have been at the helm and it is clear that the lads have responded well to your motivational style of management. The young lads have certainly benefitted from the experience that you have given to them. Full credit must also go to some of the older heads who are always seen to encourage the youngsters. The two goals that Jamie Black scored last night are perhaps the best goals i've seen in any form of football this season. From the position the team were in at the turn of the year to where they are now is quite an achievement. Well done it is something to be proud of and quite a legacy to leave the club.

Agree the 2 goals were beauts and ive only seen 3 players score better goals than them WILLIE STRAITON-DARREN BURT-DANNY MCSHEFFERTY i would be interested to hear from anyone who has seen- played with or against these boys as i have played with them and talent wise ive not seen better at ucl prem or below, and at the end of the day, players score goals like that NOT managers so its them lads{players} that deserve credit.

With Stotfold losing to Sileby last night Whitworths now only need 1 point from their remaining 2 games to secure a very crediible 3rd place.

Scully has done an unbelievable job in the reserves and I hope whitworths can retain his services next season. Last night 2 of his lads Sean Kilbane (17) and Jamie Black (18) stepped up to the 1st team with Sean starting and both did great jobs. In less than 12 months these 2 boys have already put a marker down for next season's 1st team and there are others. Well done Paul......

You mean IN-credible 3rd!!! Alot of people i meet are besotted with trophies and places and ive won a fair share myself as a player and a manager and sometimes its not all its cracked up to be.Whether we finish 4/5/6th all of us will know that we have all pulled together within the reserve team set up to make it something enjoyable and competitive for us all.

The Corby Scorpion has done a fantastic job, but lets remember all these lads apart from Fitz & Pete were recruited at the start of the season. It is absolutley true that Scully has done an excellent job in motivating them and turning them into what I believed they could have been anyway, a side that could have won the division! I really hope he stays next season, but he does live in Corby (sorry about that m8 ) and it is a distance, but I hope we can come to a suitable arrangement. I think the Scorpion has intentions of going further in the management game and from what I have seen he really could do well at the right club. ;D Also he aint a bad lad either, although he drives me up the wall at times

to/ Cam i think youve got the wrong idea about me? you seem to be suggesting that im a big head and its not the first time? if this is the case then perhaps we should meet up in a car park somewhere?? We can resolve this situation in any way you like but the outcome will be that you will come round to my way of thinking and will agree that im a SPECIAL KIND OF GUY.to/ figo , this is the situation..At the end of the season the 1st team play the reserves in a proper competitive match. If ressys win YOU RETIRE OR DISAPPEAR AND I WILL MANAGE THE 1ST TEAM, if the 1st team win then ILL STAY AND MANAGE THE RESSYS AGAIN, we shall also have a small wager of a thousand pound on it?? IS THAT DRIVING YOU UP THE WALL ENOUGH FOR YOU BIG NOSE!!! ha

hahahaha ya big galoote!! ;D We will happily play the Res (I do also agree that they would give us a good game) if that is what we have to do to keep you then yes (I will forgo the wager though as Jayne will *****n kill me) hahahaha We should have it on May 12th, have 10 pound a man (every player & manager) and we can put it behind the bar (you can have a J20) I may not walk away but it would do wonders for your image ( ) I may even have you as my number two if you did win (only coz I dont have a 3 or 4 ) Top boy!
