Scooter, I did say that it would have been deserved in a league game.
What benefit is there to either side in 1 team playing out a friendly with 10 men? Instructions on rolling subs is also a complete joke - this edict will result in far more injuries as players will be playing for longer than is advisable after a few training sessions and on harder summer pitches.
Sensible thing is to get the lad off which is what I was trying to do and happens 99 times out of 100 in these games.
Have no idea where the 7 minutes extra came from, so I suppose it was quite a feather in our cap to hold out for 27 minutes with 10 men but as I say, that told me nothing other than we can take a bit of pressure - far more important was the first 45 minutes when we once again comprehensively showed that we can hold our own in higher company.
See that Buckingham won again yesterday, so that should be a tasty challenge to get things rolling next Saturday.

It did seem a long second half, and i'm sure i heard you shout at the ref about playing until Sleaford score ! In case you didn't know i'm Sleaford's goalie. You've got a good side together, i'm sure you'll be up there at the end of the season and with Paul and Edge up front you'll get a hat full of goals. Hopefully we'll see you in 2009/10 season.

My hope too - though you could get promoted as well with that ground - is that the long term plan?
Didn't have Karl Gibbs playing who was on holiday, so plenty of options up front where we struggled last year until late on when Ryan Francis joined us.
Good save by the way near the end when Paulie was clean thru - good thinking from him not to score - we don't want to start building ourselves up too much!

Yes its definately the long term plan. We were pleased with mid table last season, which considering we didn't pay a player a single penny was a fantastic achievement. We have a new stand going up behind the goal this week ready for our first taste of FA Cup action.

Final game of our pre-season ended with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Peterborough League side Whittlesey United. 3-0 up after first period and made 7 changes at half time.
Couple of guys advertised their credentials for involvement in our first league game - roll on Saturday!

PNS have a juicy looking pre-season fixture list ahead of the defence of their division 1 title.
Tungay Korkmaz brings his Stamford Town side, with Karl Gibbs to Chestnut Avenue on Tuesday July 14th (7.00pm).
PNS stay 2 levels above with a game against Spalding United on Saturday July 18th, though the venue is still to be confirmed
On Saturday July 25th PNS travel to Central Midlands League Premier Division Champions Louth Town with a team night out in Lincoln to follow.
Tuesday July 28th sees the short trip to Deeping Rangers, who could include a number of the PNS squad from last year in their ranks, before completing the programme with another short trip to Yaxley on August 1st as PNS have once again requested a league game on August 8th to start at the same time as the Premier Division

PNS have signed all of last seasons first team squad this evening at the first training session with 4 exceptions (Karl Gibbs, Mark Paul, Lee Blewett & Ian Edge). Full list is on pnsfc.com.
Chris Dear has signed from Wisbech and is the first of a number of replacements lined up, though forwards are going to naturally be the challenge we face.
There have been a lot of rumours around quite a few of our lads, and I have to say that we are really pleased that so many have chosen to give it another crack this year - ground is looking really good as well.
Obviously there to be shot at this year and it will be a lot tougher, but we have put the past behind us and are looking forward to giving it our best shot.

Decent 2-0 win over a very average looking Spalding side yesterday quite good for starters. Tougher tests ahead I suspect starting with Blacko's on Thursday with the 5-0 caning fresh in the memory!

Spalding are in the mire. If they had 14 players out on Saturday i imagine they'll count that as a success.

Was a bit closer Groundworm. It was interesting to see that despite the usual summer comings and goings, both sides were made up of the majority of players who played in that game that ended up being pivotal for both teams at Xmas.
Blacko's went on a long unbeaten run after that, whilst it was a great wake up call for us - Blacko's basically blew us away with the tempo they played at, and our players reaction was to demand more regular and tougher training. Also meant we did not think we were the bees and ees because we were running away with Div 1.
Same this year for us and a couple of things of note. We have had some high profile departures, but the lads that have stayed seem doubly determined to prove themselves and make the most of the opportunity for more pitch time. I luv stats and on Thursday we came from behind to win which we did not manage all of last season (weren't behind too often mind!).
Secondly 2 decent friendly wins do not make us the bees and ees for this year and we are still short of a defender and a forward - situation with Ryan is not ideal, but we have chosen to accept it. He is a great lad and ambitious - wants to get in at Soham if he can (has not signed for them yet - just been training), but if that does not work out he will play for us.

The PNS pre-season schedule continued in satisfactory fashion last night with a highly entertaining and creditable 3-3 draw with Deeping Rangers at Outgang Road.
Yaxley are the visitors to Chestnut Avenue on Saturday (3pm) in the final warm up game

Wouldn't hold your breath for the yaxley game mate .... got half way to wisbech last night before getting a call to say that game was cancelled as both teams were struggling to raise a team becaus eof injuries and holidays. I know - should have checked the website. Bet they all went to the AGM!
