Great toilets at the aptly named "Waterworks Field".

Judging by last nights farcical events Whitworths won't have the facilities for promotion. Corinths took their U18s for a league game at Whitworths (the first home game they have played under lights) only for the ref to deem the lights inadequate to stage the game. The lights only dimmed the centre of the pitch and no more. A complete waste of time for everyone who made the effort to get over there!!!!

It would all depend on which way the wind was blowing!! On my interpretaion of the FA Guidelines Potton and Corinths would be gven a lifeline and Bourne, Desborough and S&L would be scapping it out between them. I believe Desborough's facilities have been passed - so don't know why you are quoting them. I haven't been over there for a while but I don't recall seeing their 200 seats duly marked for home away officials. And is the distance between the pitch and the barrier 1.83 m? Didn't use to be! Is there a secure walkway for players? Emergency lighting? Maybe it has all been done and hopefully it has. I'm sure there are other grounds with similar or worse problems.

I cannot see why all these farcical rules are needed. Why do you have 200 seats duly marked ? As long as people can park their bums who cares if its got a number on it !! Why need concrete standing on all four sides of aground? No UCL club is gonna fill their ground on all four sides !!! Why must dugouts be placedeither side ofthe halfway line? As long as they are big enough for the people using them whats the problem? This is the UCL Premier not Barclays premier !!!! I agree on some facilites like toilets , refreshements , tannoy systems etc....(all the necessary requirements) but going through the list of requirements a lot is completely a waste of money that some clubs cannot afford at this level.

As it looks like the league will be going for a 'half-way' approach between kicking out those not meeting requirements and doing nothing maybe it is would trying to split the rules into 'required' and 'preferred'. Basic facilities as mentioned above should be required, however other aspects could vary. For instance whilst concrete standing on all sides could be preferred, whilst having a concrete (or paving stone) path around the pitch wide enough to allow two people to pass could/should be required. If only for winter months when the surrounding ground can be muddy, and I'm sure clubs wouldn't appreciate lots of muddy shoes in their club houses. I think the problem the league have is that if they enforce the rules and kick out everyone who doesn't meet the requirements they'll be hardly anyone left in the league. However if they do nothing it'll irritate those club who've raised/forked out money to try and meet the requirements (as well as not going down well with the FA).

I cannot see why all these farcical rules are needed. Why do you have 200 seats duly marked ? As long as people can park their bums who cares if its got a number on it !! Only seats that need marking are for visiting commitee members, and then only need marking Home and away. 100 seats is all you need at this level Why need concrete standing on all four sides of aground? No UCL club is gonna fill their ground on all four sides !!! A question of access, if spectators can only access three sides, you only need hard standing on three sides Why must dugouts be placed either side ofthe halfway line? As long as they are big enough for the people using them whats the problem? some of the guidelines are just that... guidelines I agree on some facilites like toilets , refreshements , tannoy systems etc....(all the necessary requirements) but going through the list of requirements a lot is completely a waste of money that some clubs cannot afford at this level. I have asked the question before, but if any of the facility requirements/guidelines are superfluous, then flag them up, thats the only way they will get changed. The criteria concerning seats in one stand was changed last year (enabling Rothwell Corinthians promotion)

Ianh, are you able to explain any of the ground rules to us ? which teams will be affected & how will it work? is jeff correct when he suggested in an earlier post that the bottom 2 may not go down if their grounds are ok and others above them are not? If so, will it work on a 'bottom up' scale? There seems to be so much rumour and counter rumour that no-one really knows. Which criteria are the most important? As lineoh says, some of them seem a little over the top for UCL grounds which have an average crowd of 50 or 60?

The UCL Press Officer always quotes " Potton and Rothwell Corinthians" are in the "Relegation places". If he's saying that, is he right, or is he wrong? When will we all know and why can't it be now? S & L seem to have made NO attempt to improve anything at Occupation Road, apart from their players budget!!!!!!!!

I'm not wishing to start a huge debate on here but i've heard a 'BIG RUMOUR' that Peterborough Northern Star's ground will not be up to scratch come the deadline for promotion this season !!! This, i'm sure, will be a huge blow to there ambitions in getting promoted & could also see (only my opinion here & not fact) some players leaving to join higher grade teams. If this is the case, where does the UCL stand in regards to teams being promoted & relegated from the Premier & Division 1 league's this season ?? Will the runners-up or 3rd place side be promoted instead ??

Looks like Blackstones and Bourne to "go" for me. All others down there would appear to be "F Graded" but who knows.

The safety car's out in Melbourne so time to write a few words. Remember the directive comes from the FA for the local leagues to apply with their "local" knowledge. If it was me making decisions about clubs being relegated, promoted, staying put etc etc, I would definately be taking historical things like attitude of clubs into account when considering the position. The league has the power to decide who it wants and doesn't want and the means to implement and apply guidelines as it sees fit ... what goes around comes around. Anything could happen and nobody but nobody is above the league they play in

Well April 10th was supposed to be key date when everyone knew where they stood, but according to todays Northants E.T. the management committee have chickened out, asked the FA for further guidance and are now saying that it could well be up to other clubs at the annual meeting on June 10th to decide if any premier div teams get relegated. What a farce - all this effort of inspections etc. etc. and as jeffl as has already noted, I can see now the two fingers being waved by some clubs that appear to have made little if any effort to comply. Will the gutless management committee reimburse those clubs that have spent thousands of hard earned cash on their grounds rather than players ?
