What's it looking like Jeff / Clippo? I see it's freezing again Sunday/Monday but looking to be in the plusses for Tuesday. Fed up with that other dross, there are more than TWO Clubs in the UCL, sorry, have I put somewhere else.

Nothing to do with making yourself look stupid then Kev? You can not go around insulting the Fen folk with the 6 finger stuff as you will emd up with 25% warning level. Giggley Goo.

We're all treating the preperations as game on. The pitch still hard about half an inch down so the top is really sloppy. If it keeps thawing and the ground drains as usual I reckon it will be fine - but as always, I'll defer to Mick. Hope its on - we need some points Happy New Year to you all, hope to see you all Tuesday. By the way, apologies in adavance for the car park - the building works have made it a bit messy. Jeff

Are there more than 2 teams in the league?

Exciting end to end game at Yaxley last night. Pitch was really good and Jeff's hospitality was excellent as usual. Good to see the building work has started and looking forward to getting rid of that bloody noisy genny! The game itself got off to a great start for Yaxley and for twenty or so minutes they dominated and possibly should have been a couple up. However the last 70 minutes were really dominated by Blackstones and they should have scored more than the 4 they got. Great to see some football at last and, to repeat myself, the pitch was really good. So that's me giving credit where it's due then!

Can only agree with kevinb considering the weather of late was a good surface last night. Game of two halfs as he said. Good to see Mr Hussey back in a stones shirt eh.

Thanks for the positive comments guys - sincerely appreciated, especially on the pitch. Apparently there are folks out there who only recently commented that our pitch is the worst in the league ... so really nice to get an honest opinion from someone who knows what they're talking about.
We're relocating the genny away from the main stand - not getting rid of it as its such an economical way of running the floodlights.
Enjoyed the first half - not the second but that's football. Congrats to Stoney for his first league goal and to BB for a scorcher - hope he can do more of that.
Good luck for the rest of the season. See Sleaford didn't do us any favours last night.

Nice to see things getting back to normality again and football being played, hope it lasts. Its where we have to take our hats off to the hard working groundstaff at all the grounds, and long may they keep it up.Looking at cheaper alternatives for power, have you thought about solar power?

It was a serious comment, contrary to popular belief we have enough daylight weather over here, may not be viable for some grounds, but we have been offered the opportunity at King's Lynn. The company concerned advertises on our forum, how much does a phonecall cost? May be a way for smaller clubs to save some hard earned money, just a thought.

You're absolutely correct Lumpy - especially if you can sell surplus electricity back into the national grid - same from wind turbines. However if your facilities are to be used through the day where electricity is a continuous requirement then I'm told it's less attractive and involves much longer pay-back on a significant initial investment but there are some grants. It's still a relatively new concept and unfortunately, the planning constraints tend to overshadow the economies - although I think photo-voltaic cells on a rural roof would logically be less of an issue - well that's a big assumption from me.

If you look on our forum homepage, there is an ad for skyline solar,i'm sure they would be willing to chat to any club who may be interested, money saved+money earned if you can sell some off.I'm not sure what grants would be available, but worth looking into i think.

Good luck for the rest of the season. See Sleaford didn't do us any favours last night. Jeff Ha ha I wish we were in a position safe enough to even consider doing favours. I suppose you could argue we dragged another team into it so did you a favour in that sense.

With all that hot air in Kings Lynn a wind turbine there would see massive profits on the re sell. only joking Lumpy, so do not bite mate. I can see deep down that you are a decent lad. UCL Chatter members will always shoot your posts down in flames, with me being the worst for it. lol.

I actually agree with the turbine idea,i will have a word with the management.I don't worry about many comments made towards me,think i have been called most things by now,but St Neots baiting is my favourite sport, think quite a few have been reeled in so far.
