It all comes down to interpretation I find. For example a player who receives payment via a sponsor can be classified as not out of that clubs budget but in truth that sponsorship would be with the club, you would hope and therefore it is just wooden dollar movements. Regardless of where the players payment comes from the sum total of squad payments represent the wage bill and I would be very surprised if anyone on this basis pays more than WT2004 in the UCL Prem. Just an opinion of course

I know one of the committee members who helped when the club was setting up very well, and he said that when they were in the first season they had a first team budget of a considerable amount, I was nearly knocked off my feet when I heard how much it was.
While they have the attraction of a top world class snooker player, every local business is going to throw the money at them, do you blame them?
I would put money on it they pay the most

I think without a doubt Wellingborough are the club with the biggest players wages budget - where the money comes from is another thing. What's the average budget for a club in this division?

Its difficult to say that overall they have the biggest budget.
I reckon (with no real evidence or course) that Gary Bull at Boston will be pulling in a fair percentage of the overall budget for his club and will of course take their average wage up.
I suppose the key is finding out how much the lesser paid players earn at WTFC.

In support of Wellingborough's claim, I did hear that they approached a player from a nearby UCL club and offered him a three-figure weekly payment, which the player declined because his current club is paying him more.

You would be surprised how many of them there are about.

I was told by a completely unreliable source that there are more than a handful of players turned down a chance to go to WT for 3 figs. As I say unreliable but no smoke without fire as they say

As an ex UCL player now playing in the NCEL i have some experience of what expenses players receive. I think the average is around 30-40 pounds with some more experienced and better(strikers) players receiving up to £150. The lowest bub get that i heard mentioned was Bourne Town FC £250 with i think the average being about £500-600.
This compares to Sutton town in the NCEL who are throwing money around like confetti playing a staggering £2000 a week in players expenses and broke the league transfer record of 5K for a player at the start of the season.

Who did you play for in the UCL Frankie? And who do you play for these days? A lot of us would be interested in your comparison of the two leagues, standards, facilities, officials, attendances etc. I know one UCL Prem club with a weekly budget lower than £250, and possibly a second.

Frankie is about right from what I've heard - Bourne's budget is about £250. There can't be many clubs with a budget as low as that. Last years budget was cut in half or so I've heard - that's obviously why last years manager quit together with most of the team. So not only do they have very little money - but the team had to be re-built from scratch as well. Notley's doing a good job - not particularly pretty (the games not Notley!! - mind you he's not pretty either) but his main priority must be to try to keep them in the Prem this season. Good luck to them. If you haven't already gathered - I'm a Wakes fan - possibly the only one on this forum!!

Good to see another from the Lincolnshire contingent, hope you stay in the prem, wouldnt want to lose a local derby (assuming Sleaford achieve promotion)
