Folks, there have been a number of enquiries regarding "arrangements" for the League Cup Final between St. Ives Town and Kings Lynn Town on Monday 7th May at Yaxley FC.
We have now finalised the arrangements and it will hopefully help everyone concerned to be aware in advance.
1. Arrival at Ground: Both clubs plus the league committee members (VIP's) have each been allocated 10 car parking spaces in the main parking area immediately outside the main club building. Parking permits will be sent to each team secretary and the league. There is also parking for up to 3 x 42 seater coaches in the same area. There will be parking staff directing vehicles. Please note No permit - no parking in this area.
There will be a limited amount of parking (20-30 cars) in the remaing grass area outside of the gates and used on a first come first served basis.
The balance of car parking will be on our second pitch area opposite (4 acres and enough for approx 800 cars). Please follow the parking stewards directions as you arrive. There will be no parking allowed on the access road. Anyone doing so will be politely asked to move and if anyone needs an incentive, 2 weeks ago somebody who couldn't be bothered to use the car park, parked their car there to come and watch a game and came out find that a tractor and plough had scraped the side of his car! Parking is FREE !!! We hope that instead of paying £3 for parking you might all buy a burger or raffle ticket
2 Access to the ground: We are creating a temporary entrance at the double gates entrance off of the grass parking area (Far end of the ground). There will be 2 x payment channels manned by the League Committee. Disabled access is also available through these channels OR via the normal entrance gate OR via the main clubhouse entrance if having a pass
12 x VIP ticktes have been allocated to each club and league committee members. VIP access will be via the main club doors. Our doorman will check if you are on the list of committee members/league officials or other guest and if you are, you will get a VIP wristband which will give you access to the VIP/Presidents lounge (and the rest of the ground of course) for the afernoon. Access to the lounge will managed by additional doormen stationed at both access points. No name on the list when you arrive = no wristband = no access, no exceptions! So please ensure your secretary does their bit when asked to provide it!
3 Inside the graound: There will be an additional "refreshment marquee" on the opposite side of the ground to the main clubhouse, so hopefully we will be able to satisfy demand for refreshments. ALL drinks on the day will be served in plastic glasses. The catering van will be open serving usual burgers, chips, hot dogs etc. There will be a Tea bar inside the clubhouse and also outside on the patio area.
We hope to have a couple of side attractions on the day that will add to the family atmosphere. Toilets are inside the clubhouse and outside on the end of the changing room wing.
4 Security etc. For those that don't know, we have a CCTV system covering the ground and the parking areas. This includes PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) coverage of the inside of the ground. The cameras will be used on the day to monitor and record the crowd.
Both clubs have been asked to provide a few "stewards" who will likely know and recognise their fans. In addition to the club stewards we have arranged for a low level police presence. This is not anticipating trouble just being sensible about the numbers being predicted.
There will be First Aid available in the old board room next to the turnstile entrance.
I reckon that's about it for now, we just need a sunny (but not too hot) afternoon, a bumper crowd out for a good afternoons entertainment and of course, welcome to In2itive Park for what shoild be a great game of football and perhaps a new record !
