Joe last night confirmed the exciting new look to his Reserve Management Team. As expected Lee Mayes will be taking up the Manager role. Steve Bicknell has been appointed as Assistant Manager and Ian Baxter joins the team as Coach. Paul and James remain as Lino and Physio.
Lee is currently working through his coaching badges but has been with Whitworths for a number of years and supported the team at all levels. Steve, played UCL Prem football and is a talented football person whilst Ian is already a qualified coach.
Without a doubt, this is the most qualified and technically skilled Management Team that Whitworth FC have ever had running our Reserves and we are sure that they will achieve tremendous levels of success. Good luck to you all.

They are way more qualified than me! ;D I am confident that Lee, Steve and Ian will end up proving a fantastic appointment. We have a good squad currently and as a club we are looking to add to it so the future looks very bright. Still, as anything else, the "Proof Is In The Pudding"

I agree Figo , and with what you said to me privately " that it was going to take one hell of a team to replace me!!" JJ seems very confident that you have found it......We'll will see , hopefully you have as there's alot of lads in that dressing room i would like to see do well . Also i wish Mazey the best BUT would warn him that when you say "that the reserves is a support function to the 1st team " YOU BLOODY WELL MEAN IT!!!!!!! . Anyway I've had great fun winding you all up on here BUT i really must get my head down now as I've got alot of work to do on my new challenge..Goodbye and enjoy the forum my popularity created!!

There is no question that SS will be a tough act to follow and the boys coming in are under no illusions about that but the 3 man unit appointed with Lee at the helm has an excellent mix of knowledge, coaching qualifications and past playing talent and committment so it should be good.

Hmm......Ill skip the baby oil thanks , ill leave that to you and " the greek , sorry the geek "................................................. As for your learning curve " That starts now " . Nothing you have done in the past will prepare you for being a manager for the first time , i am not trying to scare but trying to help you realise that " Your education starts now " . Only other managers will understand what i mean......good luck

ive just returned from my summer holidays and havent really had a look on here for a month or so and have also notice it seem to have gone a little quite i hope this isnt due to my absence. anyway ive just been reading about the new whitworths res management dream team. lee maze (is that mazey who was bag man waterboy what ever want to call it) last season. Also could someone please comfirm if he has ever played or manage in the past as ive never heard his name mention in that type of roll before and if he hasnt surely this is a massive gamble by the club. i mean no offence by this just curious

I agree silent one. It is a massive gamble but if you check out his backup, you'll find that those two have played at ucl,Bicknell at cogenhoe and Baxter at whitworths. When youre managing it doesnt matter how good you are,it matters how you can guide and inspire and keep control of your team, you dig? Derek Atkinson, unbelievable player but failed as a manager, Jose Mourinho, average player, decent manager, Figo, crap player,ok manager(it was a joke, call off the hounds). All im saying is that give him a chance before everyone slams him, I would imagine it's a tough job managing anyone, let alone reserve teams especially after the great one has led them to 3rd(scully,in case you didnt know) last season. Enough about that, how was your holiday?

Led them to 3rd......after they were hammered 5/6 times before i arrived , this is the point people miss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway i agree with BB { i know who you are by the way } that a manager has to start somewhere and to be fair its not as if mazey is a total stranger to it , as he said already he has on/0ff helped joe , sarge , meds and myself so the platform is much better than i ever had or many others and will provide the foundation for the way his style will develop . I do think the back up sounds very good to but mazey must keep a firm grip on who is actually the boss and the players must know this , this is a very important/key area and one where alot of new managers with good qualifications or as BB say great players fall down. I think mazey will be fine .

Whats this, you agree with me! You.... ..agree..... with ........me,my god, miracles never cease. I initially thought silent ass was a whitworths boy but on further inspection,it doesnt seem so. We know of mazey over the fence, eager, helpful and definately not a Hatch. I hope he's a success and whits stay up. It would be good to get wboro 2004 in res div 1 to get the derby back. Also be great to get corinths in res div 1 asap just to see scully vrs mazey. Im not stirring, just like to see the game. Sometimes there's more to a football match than football,it'd be good banter.

I don't do banter and i don't play games for old times sakes....to compare mazey vrs me is an insult . As for Corinth's going up..well the 5 new teams going into that lge may put pay to that but with a good blend of young players and an older head , don't write me off as i will give everything week in week out and will never miss a match . As for whitworths staying up i think you will find on this forum that jj and figo have put together in their words " the most qualified and technical res team set up ever that were going to take the team to the next level..beating the likes of cogenhoe and Spencer that scully could not do " These were not my words . My words are this " underestimate me at your peril and when/if whitworths 1sts and 2nds have worse a season than last year and Corinth's both teams have much a better season positionally , progressively as a club with more quality players of all ages esp young then as they say the proof is in the pudding " Don't not patronize me with beginners like mazey or i will cause him , you more problems and remember i know exactly who you are so stop that boll-ox about looking over the fence . Oh ill put in a HA HA to keep things nice for this website ha ha

Steady down, I know youre only trying to wind people up, but there is no need to belittle others and try not to misquote people on the way
