Nothing to do with cash as Gav will readily confirm. We set our budget for the season and it has not changed one penny either way.And before anyone suggests it, no other 'payments' have or will take place either. Personally I'd like to see budgets across the UCL capped with expenses set at an agreed rate per mile with the maximum 'expenses' set tat the longest traveeling distance eg Boston to Stotfold and return as an example. Question is how to stop underhand payments. If capping were to happen, at least clubs would start to play on an even playing field and they would be more secure in the long term.

Just one of the many problems teams will encounter if they rely on one man. There are a few club's out there who could go the same way, I think a capped expenses sort of payment for players is a great idea, UNDER THE TABLE PAYMENTS, they go on everywhere so not sure how you could control it. Let's face the facts in the current climate you look after NO1.

If desborough are spending then why dont they get some of there team from last year back.e.g logan byrne and stanton the three main players in my opinion from last year.A proven defence and a striker better than any other in the league?Goals plus clean sheets equals success!

Lots of questions and speculation on this topic. Mitchell has signed for Desborough, Gilsenen has left Bucks to go to Desborough, Harmon dropped down to Div 1 with Chenecks. Any budget that Bucks had or still has, has not affected the majority of players wanting to stay and they are carrying on as normal (losing, winning and drawing!) and the current squad is not expected to leave on mass, maybe even some new signings to bolster the squad due to injuries.
Saturdays game had 6 minutes 'added time' in the second half which was justified (maybe even more) due to Bournes time wasting, 5 subs and two long injury treatments. There was also a red card and a yellow card to add to the time.

who would they sign for? less and less teams paying less and less. Hopefully the net result will be more player loyalty? greater team spirit?

I think other clubs with previously cash rich Chairman should take note. Naturally, the economic scenario the country is faced with has had a direct effect on the financial offerings at LBFC - By all accounts, he's a good guy who just can't simply afford to bank roll the wages at the present time.
I can't see how a few other clubs with sponsorship and funding from "successful local businessmen" won't take a hit in the near future too. Let's be honest, it's affecting a large majority of small to medium businesses and clubs will need to be prepared.
Maybe now, in UCL football, in line with house prices - we'll start to see some genuine value price tags being slapped against them and not these over-inflated ego boosts that are unsustainable and not reflective of true values.
The bubble may finally burst.

gerrard you are spot on, the more prudent (better run) clubs need to hold their nerve too and make it difficult for the mercenries to find a new club, it is a sure fact they don't mind where they play as long as ................................
Bubbles were always going to pop, just when!
