Eynesbury 2-1 Bugbrooke SM
Just a quick one to say fair play to Eynesbury for nicking a reasonably tight affair on Saturday. I think a draw would have been about right, but after getting a deep in injury time equaliser and conceding 2 minutes later, I'd say we probably got what we deserved and should learn from it.
Apart from the 16 minutes added time (which we were extremely grateful for and then frustrated by), I was more than impressed with the turnaround in Eyensbury having not been over for 2 seasons. A large crowd, good banter, competitive and even game, good food afterwards and generally a decent bunch.
I am sure I speak for our club when I say you're more than welcome for the return leg later in the season. With exception to 2 overly physical challenges (one from each side) during the second half, it was all a bit respectful.
The quality of football was very rusty and neither side got it down for any period of time and played attractive stuff, but I am sure that will come in time.
