With p.n.s playing 2 games back to back manager Chris plumber is looking for 3 points tonight against a potten team are looking to put a stop to that.Chris has no injury worries with a strong team of 18 quote the et.I'm sure he will have one eye on the county cup game on Saturday the 24th against Kettering nomads but with P.n.s looking good at the top tonight will take them 7 points clear but the challengers have 3 games in hand. All in all be a good game of football tonight at chestnut avenue 8pm kick off if P.N.S play to the standard they did against Bugbrooke last Saturday should be a good evening all in all don't forget all children welcome and Hope to get a good crowd there is also a children's game on the pitch before kick off so earlier the better fans

how come PNS are playing 2 games in 2 days? especially when they've played more than everyone else in the league? it's not like they are looking to catch up on games...

just seems a little odd to me to have 2 first team games in consecutive days when it wasn't forced upon you because of fixture congestion.. i can understand the £££ benefits of a Friday night game, and i personally think there should be more of them in the league - just a query really..
I would wonder whether Nomads would consider it to be a lack of respect to them but they're probably delighted they might not have to face the league leaders at full strength!!

Without knowing for sure, i would guess that PNS played a weakened side today and got there just rewards.
No club in the UCL is in a position to show lower graded clubs the total disrespect and disregard that PNS have clearly shown Kettering Nomads.
IF, they played a weakend side they should be ashamed of themselves, they have let themselves and the league that they are representing down big time, especially considered the clubs proud record in this prestigious competition.

To win the league is the goal for us all. PNS have had it rough and i for one can not blame them for wanting to open a gap between them and the rest of the league, which they have now done. In fact it is a master stroke. Huntingdon are in 5 cups this season. We used our league cup game to look at players, both reserves and trailist. We lost it 3-1. It was not because of dis respect to the team we played but because league is more important and it gave us a chance to watch other player available to us. I know we will not win the league and all will expect PNS to do that. As stated before, if any of the top teams can beat Pns this season then it will give them a great chance to progress.

P.S there has only been one non UCL club to have won this cup in the last 15 years or so, i am not sure who they are but know it to be true. So do not worry there are still plenty of UCL teams still in it and i am sure one will win it again this season too.

I was at the game and apart from last fifteen of first half when star should have scored at least a couple Nomads deserved it. Last twenty they did not look like scoring. Yes they left a few out but so what. It was a first team game and they underestimated nomads. Hill and Plummer both played and are quality. Francis played as did Baines and a couple others. To be fair they took it well and were gracious in defeat. Nomads are a good side and should be feared by anyone as the result showed yesterday

Was well aware that the decision to play 2 games in 18 hours (for which I take 100% responsibility) was always going to lead to comment and criticism, particularly if it went wrong like yesterday.
Lots of reasons for it and Pat hit on a couple - getting promotion means absolutely everything to the club and to be honest everything else is irelevant.
Getting games under our belt, points on the board and now knowing that even with a bad winter we should not fall behind with fixtures are all consistent with our ambition.
If we had called Friday off it would have meant 6 away games on the bounce, and looking to the long term, we were really keen to experiment with a Friday night home game and were rewarded with the biggest crowd seen at any division 1 match for a couple of years.
That said we did want to win yesterday and felt we could put out a fresh enough starting 11 to do that. That was messed up by 3 late withdrawls and a foul up over keepers but still had a strong team out, albeit that 5 had played the night before, when our intention had been to only play 2. Fair do's to Kettering Noamds who were worthy winners and it does open up the competition to the rest of the field.

Just to clarify the situation we are talking about Peterborough Northern Star here aren't we? A UCL division 1 club. For a minute reading this thread i thought we we were talking about a Premiership club, what with the talk of fixture pile ups, the need to see trialists, prioritising competitions. The phrase delusions of grandeur springs to mind. Good luck fellas in your ultimate quest this season of getting your massive club into the UCL premier. I am sure many like me appreciate clubs like yours don't want to be inconvenienced by these competitions.
