Speaking from experience that "It's all very grey & messy to me!" sometimes sums Ashby up. At Raunds he was always the changing the side, pulling in new people or discarding, never giving players the opportunity to settle. He strikes as in impatient person or too much pressure? But thats my opinion.

Smethers played for WTFC at Holbeach last Saturday, he's a decent player but was not getting in regular at Brackley. WTFC already have Ben Armstrong on loan at Thrapston & Kevin Slinn is on loan at Long Buckby so i'm not sure how this loan thing works? Can Jed also go? 1) How many players from a club are allowed out on loan? 2) How many can a club take on loan? 3) Is there any restrictions at all? 4) What leagues/divisions can loan players? It's all very grey & messy to me! The short term loan arrangements can be messy however, I understand that whilst a club can loan upto 8 players in a season, it can only receive or let out 2 at a time. Minimum period is 28 days with a max of 93 days. However, if a players loan becomes permanent before expiry of the loan period, then the loan period is not counted as part of the clubs annual entitlement which is 465 days per season. Therefore if WT have 2 players currently out on loan, I would not think it likely that a 3rd is on the cards, unless a one is to be recalled as a result of his term being up or a permanent transfer occurs.

there is no such thing as a " loan " between UCL clubs. Its a transfer only.

Rule 6.4.4 in the UCL handbook refers to Loan Transfers - these only relate to contract players - therefore non contract players are simply transferred, the only restriction being that a player cannot be transferred within 14 days of signing for a club.

Thanks Lankie I forgot to mention the contract element, but effectively these 'loan transfers' are loans as the players return after the agreed term is concluded, unless of course a transfer has taken place.

I think a better term would be 'short term transfer'

The handbook refers to them as "Short term loan transfers"
