Went along and had a look at this. Not a bad game. Was disapointed to be honest in ebury they did not show much at all.
I was a bit nobbed off that i didnt get a programme aswell!!!!!!!
Thrappo look like contenders, the team to beat id say but imo they nowhere near yet what Joe plans them to be by chrimbo.
Noticed Dev ellwood playing last night ex whits player and many whits or ex whits players down there watching. Imo with Joes former connection to the club that is bound to happen.
It does seem though that some lads have left whits recently and their campaign aint started very well considering word was in the summer they were going to be decent this season. I hope they can be. I really like the lad Matty freeman who is over there having a go at the job with help from some others and i hope he can turn whits into contenders but something dont seem right at the moment players leaving etc etc
I dont think ebury will be in the top 3 after last nights performance but hey it just one game.

I thought it was quite even first half and Thrapston could have found themselves 2-1 down going into the interval. A much rejuvanated Thrapston side took to the field second half and at times played some outstanding football. I thought they earned the right second half and imo this was a great advert for ucl football.
I have to agree with LNM above, Thrapston definately look like title contenders if they continue to apply themselves in the same manner as their second half perfomance on Friday. Imo they have quality all over the pitch with a deecnt looking subs bench. Eyensbury won't be far off i just think they came up against a better team.

LNM what your saying about whits and matty are very true, matty top bloke got a lot of decent players in over the summer but things happen at that club which matty cant control, i think its down to others around him like the manager s.bicknall i think not a good manager who can control a good squad and hasnt got a good knowledge of local footballers, so watch the space at whits only time will tell, was down watching saturday and well only a few words came sum up them s**t and poor. thraps well big title contenders watched them a couple of times this season and are getting better and better every game but thats joe for you he knows how to win this div and thats what he will do over here, but friday the 25th thrap verse whits in the cup or shall we say as stated by the BPW manager Mr Fox Manchester utd Verses Blackpool

Oh right, so sounds like something is going on over there. Did think something not quite right. Must say that i don't think they have chosen their managers too well in the last 2/3 seasons (if your face fits syndrome id argue) but i hope the lad Freeman comes through the experience of having first crack at being part of a management set up OK. Hes a good lad that will give something back to the game in the next few seasons. Have heard that there are more chiefs than Indians at moment and i think Matty should take the job on solo with just one confidant. Cooks and broth n all that.
Id go for a Matty and Meds combo myself, just my opinion.
As for Thrap and Joe, yeah will be there or thereabouts for sure. I couldn't add anything to what i have already said and what everyone else knows about Joe

I managed to watch most of Thrapston v Eynesbury and Whits v Boston. Thrapston got off to a flyer thanks to a complete balls up by Eynesbury. After that I thought Eynesbury played the better football without the final finish and eventually got the goal they deserved to go in level at half time. 2nd half was dominated by Thrapston who scored 2 more but it should have been 4 or 5. I think both teams will be top 6 but there is a long way to go and much improvement needed before I would say either team were good enough for top 3 finish. I'm sure both managers know their teams weaknesses and wiil take steps to correct, Overall good game to watch and good advert for Div 1 football played in good spirit and well refereed. Got to disagree with insider about Whits been "s**t and poor" they were up against a higher level team who play very good football. Although all the good passing football was played by Boston, Whitworths showed good battling qualities and I felt had they been able to finish some glaring chances they could have put Boston under a lot more pressure. That said Whits were a very quite team who relied too much on just knocking it up front and hoping for the best. Much improvement needed if their going to move away from bottom 3. As regards to the management at Whitworths, not sure if they noticed a former manager of the club, who has gone on to manage W'boro, Raunds and Thrapston in recent seasons, in attendance and talking to a well placed committee member. Could the first managerial change of the season be imminent? ?

Haha honestly i am not the one and only Admin can hopefully one day confirm this Though Scully has been in touch with me and asked me to chill out on the hero worship You try and help some people eh I would like to see CR back in somewhere doing a job. I think the local games needs the names and characters we have become accustomed to. It is good for talking points. One last name change and then that is it for good. Something exciting, windswept and interesting
