The league is really starting to take shape now after 10 games. Olney won, thrapston and Bugbrooke won with kepmston slipping up. Whats everyones thoughts are we now finally getting a true picture of the real league contenders??

Whats everyones thoughts are we now finally getting a true picture of the real league contenders?? think its Thrapston for the league and Rothwell r/u after early season optimism, Sileby for a mid table finish...losing Worley, the right back Avery to Cogenhoe and the keeper to Banbury is a big loss Bourne have underachieved so far, along with Huntingdon and Eynesbury Olney and Bugbrooke have been the surprise teams and BPW are having a great season

Watched Olney yesterday for the first time against a very average/poor Whitworths team and in my humble judgement they are at best a mid table team who have been lucky enough to have played the weaker teams in the league this year early. Will be interesting to see how they get on against BPW next sat, I think BPW are by far the most improved team this year and a match for any team although results haven't reflected their performance, so this will be a good guide to how far both teams have progressed from last year and where they are now. Looking at the rest of the results yesterday it is probably the most open league for years with no big money team running away with it as in previous seasons (Irchester, Dav T).

I think the next month or so will be very interesting. There are some key games for all the top sides. I have not had a chance to watch kempston yet, what are they like?

BPW are doing great this year and long overdue. Great club and good people behind the scenes. Good manager and an honest bunch of lads. A club that does not pay players but instead 'invests' its time and effort into young local players and the community. Great effort over the years by Kenny (john salako) and his wife Sam(girl behind the bar) who deserve to see some good times after a constant battle for survival. Great effort by Kev and Scott with following through with the clubs new ethos that was set out 18months ago. Very easy in football to throw your ethos and plans of action out the window for short term gain but BPW have stuck to the task. I really hope i am not putting the kiss of death on it but a top 6 finish could be achievable. The club has received good support from the league when in times of trouble and their faith has been rewarded. I did hear that the ucl end of year meeting was to be held at Burton? I could be wrong on that. Mr Salako, with so much community involvement at the club and so many youth teams should see Burton granted funding so that they can finally get lights at the ground? I know floodlights are taken as a 'gimme' these days but for BPW it would be a fantastic achievement. On the league, Thrappo look home and dry

Cheers john i will pass on your compliments to all at Burton who have had hand in the progress of the club past and present. Kempston are a Quality side from front to back, i couldn't see any real weak links, they just happened to come up against a Burton side who played out of their skins, The back four and the goalkeeper were top draw. I know i have a joke about thrapston mainly to get a bite out of Joe and Mike Houghton (unsuccessfully). But i really think if there is going to be a team to challenge them it will be Kempston and i think it will be a lot tighter than it looks. we are playing Olney this week so it may change.

I think that judging by everyones comments on here its out of Thrapston, Kempston or Rothwell. The winter period looks like it will really seperate the men from the boys. Possible dark horse Olney who have started well but appears against the odds they will last.

You wont get a bite out of me Ken, some extreme fishing needed there m8 But I will answer Mr Smith (or should I say SS) To say any league is "home and dry" in November is nonsense. From what I've seen so far, I think virtually any team in the division this season is capable of beating any other team on their day. A lot more points will be dropped before its done and dusted. So whoever is top when the Fat Bird sings will have earned it. Kev and Scotty are doing a great job, they are a very decent side. I tipped BPW to be comfortable mid table, but the way they are playing now, maybe a little higher. Kev wont be happy with that extra pressure ;D lol See you when we play you on Friday the 3rd of Dec m8, should be a belter.

Sileby fan I dont know how you can say Bourne have under achieved. Considering they lost the entire squad from last season , rebuilt a new squad on NO playing budget, beaten the likes of Olney, Bugbrooke and Thrapston ( although lost some silly matches) I think what they have achieved is a huge complement to the Management Team. They knew is was never going to be easy with lots of clubs paying out wages but to sit mid table with a respectable amount of points is i beleive excellent progress. If it was'nt for the fact they have lost some silly games they could be sitting in the top four quite comfortably. If they finish where they are now or maybe a few places higher it will a huge success for them.
