££££££££££££££££'s, that's all that WTFC are seeing. As for AFC, how many other clubs do they want to get their claws into. First South Rushden now WTFC. I'm so glad that Raunds put their identity and history before the £ signs. Good riddance AFC and good luck to South Rushden and WTFC, you will need it!!! I don't very often post on these boards but as a Director of South Rushden I feel I should put the record straight. South Rushden JFC have been providing football for the children of Rushden for ten years, we have been so successful that we have grown from one team in 2001 to 13 teams for this season, plus a development section, plus a girls section, plus a disabled section. Nearly all of our teams are over subscribed player wise. All this without the benefit of having either a real home ground or a pathway through to U18's and men's football. We are at the stage where we have outgrown the meagre facilities on offer in Rushden and need to join with an organisation offering what we don't and vice versa. We are bloody good at what we do. The Community Football Partnership we have agreed with AFC R&D will benefit both organisations mutually. I don't see anyone getting their claws into anyone else.

I'm not sure what the reasoning is, but it seems to me that there will always be 1 or 2 people with a vendetta against the newbies, especially if you have lots of cash, a big fan base or both. I noticed this with Kings Lynn a while back! Try not to react to the mindless comments of a minority. And good luck next season!

I'd like to point out that in another thread I did say we'd be sad to leave Raunds Town, they've been brilliant hosts and we thank them for all they've taught us and we'd have stayed there if we could have but it wasn't on the table. Good luck to them except when we play them.

Whilst we didn't see the current committee of AFC as threat, however, it doesn't take much for the faces to change and a more sinister element take hold. And that should be seen as a little warning for AFC to be careful and vigilant since there will always be someone out there that will want to take over and kick out the good people. Why do you think we had to form our own club in the first place, we've been there, suffered it and lost our club in dark circumstances? Our AFC R & D constitution is as a Community Benefit Society, no one person can have overall control. Our desire is and shall remain to return to our area of Rushden/ Higham/ Irthlingborough, we were never a threat to Raunds Town in that respect. Wellingborough will benefit big time IMO and we shall leave them in a better place than we joined them. We are not new to this football lark, so don't shoot at us if you don't expect to be shot at back (so to speak) although IF we get placed in the UCL Prem we know it's coming. We've been in the Football League and have seen "real" serious football fans in the likes of Cardiff, Millwall and Leeds.

That post wasn't all aimed at you or Raunds Town mate, just being general. Sorry if it read the wrong way.
