Massive congratulations to Whitworths Reserves who reached their 2nd cup final of the season last night. They beat S and L 1-0 and meet Kings Lynn in the final. Their other final is in 3 weeks time against Rushden and Higham Reserves. They are also in the top 4 of the division which is outstanding considering this time last year they struggled to get 11 players for a game!! A massive well done to Martin Goodes and James Daldy who have managed the side extremely well. Good luck in the finals.

whilst in normal circumstances i would wish the team that beat us in the semi final good luck i find that very hard to do in your case as we fielded a total reserve team and most of your reserves were watching from the sideline, Whilst what you did is within the rules (as was kings lynn's goal against thrapston) is it morally right ? Talking to one of your parents on the night who's son was left out to make way for first team players i would say not. It does somewhat devalue the competion.

Morally right? Is this the same S and L that took Irchester's manager on the eve of the season and most of their players? I know it's in the rules but......

managers and players allways move PRE season but to play for your team all season then get left out for a big semi and more likely a final is a totally different kettle of fish to say your RESERVE players were unhappy is an understatement

We have no reserve players, we have no 1st team players, we have club players. Some are eligible and some are not. As always the club must come first and the manager picks a team from players he has available. Younger players sometimes get left out in place of experienced ones. I'd like to meet the manager who has never used a 'first teamer' to strengthen his side. As far as unhappy parents go, I can totally understand their disappointment for their son however, the club's success must come before any individual.
