Embargoed until 10 am 10/05/12 • That, in order to continue to compete at Step 5 of the National League System, ALL clubs must meet the National Ground Grading Category F in FULLby 31 March 2013. Clubs that do not meet these requirements WILL be relegated to an appropriate Step 6 division/competition. In addition all Leagues must fully comply with the Regulations for the Establishment and Operation of the National League System, Standardised Rules and National Ground Grading Document. So most of the Spartan South Midlands League is screwed then......

I seem to remember seeing a report that the FA Media said that LB failed to get a grading (at all).

Not relevant at this time as they have until March 2013 to achieve it.

Not sure if people have noticed but the press release is on the "official" UCL website dated Wednesday 9 May!

Even more confused about the dates! Still, it's the result that counts. Onwards and upwards :-)

Having initially issues it embargoed this was followed up with a further email releasing the information early.
Having studied the detail it does seem the motives were more to do with Step 3 & 4, but that said we must be grateful that the compelling case we built has indeed be thoroughly listened to and the outcome reflects that. We can now move forward to debating the workings which seem acceptable to Step 5.

CHROMASPORT & TROPHIES UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE CHAIRMAN’S STATEMENT Following today’s press announcement by the FA, in particular “that the process of reducing step 5 leagues from 14 to 12 was deemed unworkable and the initial suggestion withdrawn”, the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties Football League wish to thank all concerned for their united support against those initial suggestions. We have had overwhelming support from many within the FA and also county FAs, other leagues and clubs, national and local press, MPs and many other individuals and organisations, both in the UK and abroad. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our clubs for their unanimous and unwavering support and our officers and management committee members for their unstinting efforts in producing facts, figures and documents to fight those suggestions from the FA. Leagues at Step 5 can now focus on their future with the knowledge that our voice has not only been heard but acted upon. John Weeks Chairman ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties Football League 10 May 2012 as emailed out today So can we start a campaign to get Mr Appleby removed from office?

And mine, just got to get rid of that bloody gravel now! Where's Trevor Mitchell when you need him? Anyone any fencing to spare, wonder if even more will be added to the F Grade before next March, will Spencer come back to the Prem now, will Kings Lynn ever win anything in the UCL, will the Ground Graders all look at things in the same way, why do I bother asking these questions, all I get is sympathy, ridicule, well wishers but NO actual constructive/financial help by the very people that cause us the problems in the first place! There, that's a little better now, off my chest and ready to go begging up Stamford High Street again.
