St. Neots Town 3 -v- 3 AFC R & D
The Diamonds fought back from 3 nil down after 20 minutes to earn a creditable draw, in fact we had enough chances to win the game.
Attendance 286, around half were Diamonds fans I'd guess.

Netherton Utd 0 - 1 Yaxley
Many thanks to Netherton for hosting the game on their fantastic 3G pitch. Netherton started the game very brightly and have some very pacey and skillfull players and created some good chances. Overall, IMHO we played the better football (a handfull of new players were given a run out including Adam Scothcher) and deserved the win but again, credit to Netherton. Thanks for the post-match pint Ron and good luck for the season to all of the Netherton teams. See you all at In2itive park later in the season when you play Stilton! Jeff

Yaxley 2 - 2 Haverhill
Great testimony to our depth and strength of senior squad as 8 first choice starters out either injured, on holiday or working so very very young team all of whom shone tonight although still a few rough edges that a season will solve. Well done lads and many thanks to Haverhill for coming over and good luck for your season.

Wisbech St. Mary (0) - (1) Yaxley Luke Hipwell - a superb goal. Could have been 3 or 4 but WSM were strong and tested Butcher on a couple of occassions. Another PSF that saw plenty of changes and a couple of new faces on show. Plenty of ooo's and arrr's and an entertaining game. Thanks to WSM and good luck in the new division.
A trip to Swaffham on Saturday but not before Friday nights junior session on the main pitch and the following meet the senior players and managers - don't stay up too late lads :-)

Cogenhoe 2 0 Raunds T
Another good display from a new look Raunds who again gave another good account of themselves against Premier opposition after last weeks defeat to a strong St Ives side . Cogenhoe certainly knew they had been in a game especially the first 20 minutes of 2nd half as Raunds dominated. The Cooks scored early doors and the 2nd at the end. A few full blooded tackles with some good football from both sides tonight. Footy is back!!!!!!!!!!!

St Neots Town 3 Eynesbury Rovers 3
A great Eynesbury performance against their step 3 neighbours. St Neots were obviously not at full strength, however the few trialists that they mixed in were all quality players, some of which have just been released from pro clubs. A stronger looking Eynesbury squad matched the home side in a very entertaining game.

they had far too much quality for us, but we battled away without giving up easily.

Biggleswade Utd 1 Eynesbury Rovers 2
Eynesbury were the better side throughout this match, but failed to create as many chances as they wouldve liked, with the amount of possession they had. Another good work out, and another victory against a level 5 club.

Yaxley (2) - (1) Soham Town
Another entertaining performance at In2itive Park and a pleasing result for the final friendly. Stilton's last minute stand-in 'keeper had an impressive game and was tested several times by a sharp Soham forward line. The Cuckoos looked solid throughout and Luke Pepper's 20 yard screamer was an impressive opener.
Not a bad performance anywhere on the pitch, great momentum to the game and pleased to see the results of a hard but structured pre-season showing early signs of paying dividends.
Also good to see a couple of our U18's who showed very well against Wisbech on Monday get a run out. All promising stuff.
Thanks to Soham for coming over and good luck for the season.
Nice to see Fern's down at the club - always welcome fella ;-)
Well done lads and good luck in the cup on Saturday - great team spirit! Jeff
