In my opinion the best 2 grounds in div1 are wellingborough and huntingdon. the worst 2 are Thrapston and Higham (how can they stay in the league with poor facilities like this)

you mean ground as in facilities, rather than pitch.
as Huntingdons pitch is poor, facilities are good and more importantly, ther is masses of potential

I think you will find that Thrapston have a grant for floodlights and new changing rooms.
Its hard for all clubs with the soon to be enforced FA ground grading for step 6.
Little consideration was made for clubs who had to renew leases before applying for grants and some clubs play on pitches owned by council or playing field association. The legal bills for sorting this kind of thing out can be substantial. Thats before you go and raise funds to get a grant!
Maybe clubs only have a season or two to make this ground grading at step 6.
If the leicestershire senior league becomes a feeder league for UCL division one there could be a good future for the division?
its a problem... we could have good footballing teams. dropping down because they cant make ground grading requirment in time!

I think you will find that Thrapston have a grant for floodlights and new changing rooms. True. As well as a new stand. All to be completed in the summer. There is already a bar there... can't say fairer than that!

I dont agree with any of you. Sileby Rangers is acknowledged by the majority to have by far the best playing surface, set up and quality of floodlights. This goes for the Premier Division let alone Division 1. It is a tradegy that one of the best managers around in Gary Petts and the facilities of Sileby were not competing in the Premier Division this year. I heard hes going to be offered the job at Wellingborough Town - anyone know anything about this ?

I heard that also.
It was on the Wellingborough website but is being treated as nonsense.

sileby have the best setup in division one followed by wellinboro's dog and duck. must also put in a mention for the old eye utd pitch! looks like a dream to play on! visited most grounds and these are the ones i can pick out! been to huntingdon, far too windy! pitch looks too big and not regulation, also from the side it looks like ridge and furrow farmland!

Sileby for me .....just gets better every year. The set up is by far the best in both the premier and Div 1 but the people behind the bar and the committee {EDITED}...only thing that lets it down for me... Thrapstons facilities are a joke and whatever new ones they get will never disguise the cowfield they play on. It is still after all a cricket field..... Wellingborough has huge potential but they must do something to the pitch that has haunted them for years. By far the most welcoming club and friendliest. Nothing is too much trouble and I hope the enthusiasm and novelty this year wont wear off.
Sleaford is dreadful and how they got into the league with no bar etc etc etc is beyond me... Higham ...well I say no more! Blisworth and Bugbrooke Im sure use the same groundsman once a month. Whitworths is ok until it starts raining and must have the weirdest people behind the scenes. The tea lady {EDITED}..... Eynesbury can be good if the groundsman can ever be bothered to cut the field...when short its very good. Food after is ok but always very greasy and samey ! On Chenecks is like playing on a school pitch and way too small but quite good surface. Burton park should be thrown out of the league as they must be the most unfriendliest place to play. The pitch is awful despite efforts to improve drainage, {EDITED} Olney is big, wide and usually kept well but it always seems like you are playing on a park pitch with the awful surroundings...if you know what I mean.
Huntingdon is the pits ...the surface is awful and it looks like a ploughed field. It is so exposed up there and those awful portakabins should be knocked down!
Thats about it for me..... Im off to do the Premier Division Grounds now.....!!

The others hardly are worth mentioning but ok my thoughts are: Corinthians - {EDITED} over there and a pitch that slopes everywhere...you get dizzy on that. Its always too boggy - changing rooms are too small and the clubhouse is a joke. Irchester - better and the pitch up until now is usully quite good. still a cricket pitch though and too open. {EDITED} Eye - good surface and excellent palying surface. The changing rooms and the clubhouse are awful and need sorting. Daventry - was good a few years ago but is more of a ploughed field now ..dreadful. This is not Ford Sports but Dav but Ford Sports isnt much better is it ?? Worst changing rooms ever over there.
Kempston ...I rest my case that all players hate going there. Full of {EDITED}
