Does anyone know the average wage/bonus of players that turn out in the UCL ?
This is often a subject that people feel uncomfortable to talk about but do we really have a league where players are easily swayed by the lure of cash ?
I've heard a few things about Wellingborough paying players but this just might be speculation.

I can let you know that all players at NPTFC get the same that being £5 per point.... As you can see from the league table they don't get paid that often....

Not sure I am that interested in players wages. Well dont read this thread then No, Seriously, it is of interest to some people. i must admit, it makes me think about level of commitment that players show compared to people behind the scenes who are mostly voluntary. Dont get me wrong, I know that if it was a big problem, we could just stop doing it. It is also of some interest to compare it with club fortunes IE Harrowby United

Whistler - that's interesting about Chenecks.
I'm not so close to the Club now but I understand that Paul Bass at Huntingdon is actually paid per goal ! I think it was something like £10 a goal.

A positive point of bonuses being so low (a fiver is not exactly means to go part time in your day job is it?!) is that players shouldn't be able to be lured by money... for example, if you play at "x" and don't get paid, but you have first team starts, enjoy yourself, get on well with the lads/management; then you aren't going to be persuaded to give all that up and play for "y" for even £20, let alone £5.
Reasons for moving should therefore be down to: respect (frequency of first team starts), potential (top of the league or relegation battle), size (higher league etc), location (proximity to home), loyalty (if you have deep connections etc...), and general experience (how well you get on with teamates and management).
It's nice to feel that, at least if only small scale, football can be held at arms length from money. Not so nice, however, that the players can't be rewarded financially for their labour.

mickhuntingdon - can i ask why you are so interested in how much and who is being paid? is it possible that if only one player is being paid, that he has a personal sponser and it isnt the club paying him?

hey rapper and mickhuntingdon, let me put you in the picture NO ONE AT HUNTINGDON GETS PAID. Thats a fact, and for that matter I hear the tax man is closing in on level 5 & 6 clubs, just ask Cornard Utd from the Ridgeons div 1. they have been hit with a 16 grand demand.

Spencer players get paid less than Newport Pagnell players in the Prem then!
I was told on good authority that the Woodford weekly wage bill is around £1500. I was also told that 5 Woodford players are on £200 per week!
I think a number of clubs pay between £30 and £60 in the Prem. I suppose it's just a case of whether you have the money to spend.
