It came to my attention last evening that Ian Symington may have played for R&H during the 1st round of the Junior Cup coming on at some point as a substitute, a fact not picked up when Ian transferred to Whitworths. last weekend Ian started for Whitworths in the 7 - 0 win against Cogenhoe Reserves. As ever our teamsheets are passed to UCL for publication on mittoo as well as the NFA for their records but also our own website so no intention at all to deceive in anyway. I have this morning reported the incident to the Chief Executive of the NFA who has referred the matter to the Challenge Cup committee. I do expect that Whitworths will be removed from the this seasons competition and Cogenhoe Reserves would be re-instated. Apologies to all concerned with the club, an innocent mistake and lessons learned. If we were a political party there would be 1001 people calling for the secretary's head and even more waiting for the job...............but we are not and there are not........

JJ, Chin up, it can happen to the best of us!!! You do a good job at all times and the club is always first with you. Every one can make mistakes, the only bloke who never made one, well, they crucified him. As I said in a previous thread, players need to be honest as well.Todays News, tomorrows chip paper, nobody died, the sun still shines and the sharpe knives will soon be put away.

Thanks shelta but I set high standards, or at least try to and am gutted for the whole club over this. positive side though........should hear about the funding over the next few days and focus on the league and a place at the big boys dinner table

I watched the game Saturday and you could have won with 10 men.
To be honest the player in question should know that he is cup tied and in my opinion has let the rest of the lads down big time.

Would this be the second time jj did this happen a couple of years ago? ? is this going to affect the team with all the gossip going around, if you are eleminated then can the current squad write the record books again with back to back titles? ??

Shelta , you wouldn't be Pringle would you . Ha Ha
Anyway JJ ,
Not you fault , the player and manager defo responsable for this without a shadow of a doubt .
As with Sleaford last season when Whitworths claimed that " rules are rules " , there cannot be anyway back for you in this competition .
Shame though , think you would have won it this year
But not now , whos left in it ?
Who are the faves now ?

I thought I was having my leg pulled when I was told. How did the player not know?
I can understand if you play in the senior cup and then move clubs and make the mistake playing in the junior cup but in the same competition?!

Unfortunately the buck stops at the Secretaries door (even if you didnt cause the problem) if it goes right, then thats your job, bit like referees really............ except you dont get paid for it
am sorry to hear it John, and will expect a full explanation at the next meeting ;D

I agree with ianh the buck stops with the secretary full stop. As for 2 years ago I don't remember us being eliminated for irregularities certainly not in the last 4 years that I have been here...........maybe mind has gone blank but dont think so. We were heavily fined twice 4 years ago for not fulfilling fixtures.....didnt have enough players.........come along way since then.
Back to back titles definately on I think and whilst I hear SS about the cup this year, I dont beleive it would have been a better opportunity than that which we had last season to be honest. Goals harder to come by this season wheras last season scoring them for fun.
Player exodus..........I am hoping that has stopped. I understand the rumours about Craig going back to Spencer are just that as I felt they were and for the time being anyway I am informed that Deven has turned down the opportunity to go to Corinthians and I am really pleased because as stated in an earlier thread Deven has been with us for 3 years now from Sunday football on and is an important member of our Club.
Ben Bivens has gone to Raunds though still injured and not likely to play I am told for another 2 - 4 weeks.
New player coming in, hope to conclude today and waiting by phone for news on funding so hope good news around the corner

very quick ianh, very quick, but you know better than that. I wish the ground were in such great shape that anyone prepared to invest heavily in the club could do so on player budgets but not the case and dont expect it to be so for at least another 10 - 25 years . I wouldnt mind being able to provide a mini bus though for away fixtures

not the case and dont expect it to be so for at least another 10 - 25 years . Dont know the balance of power in Wellingborough re-league positions and facilities seems to be sliding your way, very slowly I grant you, but I would like to bet that you will be able to compete on a level playing field in less than 10 years (if there are still 2 clubs) I wouldnt mind being able to provide a mini bus though for away fixtures You are aiming way to high there John, just get your head out of the clouds. you would have to take take a pay cut or cash some of your shares in. ;D
