Went to watch star at Potton Tuesday night and what a poor showing by STAR IF THIS IS THE BEST WE CAN DO. I Think it time we started looking for some new players the manager gives his all but some players especially in mid field seem to be along just for the ride. They should be a shamed of them selves to play against a team that has let in so many goals this season. And didnt look like scoring. So come on tommy ditch the dead wood. and get some player with big hearts Like you

>:(Come on starfan I was there at the game it was a very tight and potton have played a lot more games then us. We did miss some good chances, but put them away it be comes a different game. So get off the backs of the players and let them bond together for next season this is a new team full of just Peterborough lads not mercenary. And it great to see.

From todays ET:
Star boss Cooper confident of a brighter future
NORTHERN Star's bid for promotion from United Counties League Division One is in the balance on and off the pitch. Star must have floodlights installed at their Chestnut Avenue base by the end of March to be considered for going up, while a top-two finish on the pitch is needed to turn the dream into reality.
Currently Star have no lights after shelving their original plan to purchase second-hand equipment from St Neots Town FC, while a lack of goals are undermining the promotion challenge.
From St. Neots FC yesterday: Due to unforeseen circumstances St Neots Town Football Club still have a set of floodlights for sale. These are approximately ten years old,are in perfect working order, possess a recent lux certificate and are available at a competitive price. There are a number of other football related items which we also wish to dispose of plus one or two items from within the club house. The latter includes two purpose built bars.
Everything has to go or be buried under about forty feet of earth !
Anyone interested please contact Bob Bridges, Chairman, St Neots Town Football Club Ltd
Tommy - have you really got the money or are the Saints floodlights to expensive ?? or is just a smoke screen??

Whilst the financial details of the proposed deal between PNS and St Neots will rightly remain between us, it is true that the total cost was over double our original estimate because of dismantling, transportation, cabling and re-errecting requirements. Myself and the club remain committed to pushing forward with the Premier Division our aim as it is with most sides in Div 1. Anyone who knows me well will also know my personal circumstances and scale of the business venture I am undertaking means that in the short term I am not flush, but that may very quickly change! Hand on heart, we are not where I hoped we would be at this stage, but the nature of the league is such that we remain in the mix for 2nd place. You can not possibly start to imagine how difficult it is to replace 2 entire sides and I have been guilty of placing faith in too many players that maybe others would have said all along would let the club down or were not up to a higher standard. I am in this for the long haul and the shape of the team is slowly evolving. Even those guys like Karl Gibbs, Wayne Morris, Paul Hill & Chris Plummer who are all capable of playing higher recognise what we are trying to achieve and are showing great patience and faith in my ability to get this right in the long run. Luv threads like this - if ever you needed a tonic or motivation something always comes along and does it for you!
