Arguably one of the youngest and best central defenders in the premier division Nicky Hurst has left Rowley Park and joined Rothwell Town. Hurst who has been absent due to injury during the past three weeks was one of the SAINTS most consistent performers during the past two seasons and has been watched by a number of teams from higher leagues recently. Sad that it might be, it is a further illustration of the general malaise at Rowley Park

Just curious to see what you views are about teams strength in depth. As we come into the xmas weeks and the bad weather and heavy and tricky pitches i,m sure teams will have injuries and will need to rest players, and just would like to see what feed back is from people about their teams squad strength. We seem ok at Wellingborough. Any views? HAYDN Most clubs seem to have competition for places from their own reserve sides but how many players in the current reserve side @ Wellingborough could step up to a title challenging side. On the plus side though the lure of the Lira would be attractive to many quality players to fill any gaps made by injury or suspension.

Sad that it might be, it is a further illustration of the general malaise at Rowley Park If there is anything to come out of the Cuckoos and Saints poor seasons so far it is that Southampton Saint and I have stopped bickering and become buddies Keep the faith mate, it will turn round for you I am sure.

In St Neots case I doubt it very much.Without a complete regime change I cannot see things improving and as the present incumbants believe that they have done nothing wrong apart from that is failing to pay the players on time, letting the ground fall apart, failing to raise any sponsorship etc,etc they will probably celebrate their new gound opening (whenever this happens)in division one. Very sad Jimmy. Yes we have had one or two disagreements, but I think that we have really always been on the same side; our local club.

Anyway, you've not been spotted at games lately mate...given up the ghost?

Well it certainly is ! In the past five years or so its happened quite regularly, about every eighteen months or so,the club having moved on a couple of steps or so goes back three or four.Everyone knows the reason for it, but the very few surrounding the MAIN problem do absolutely nothing about it. Perhaps they too do not want to progress.

Abbotsley Saint I am sorry, I've missed you too and hope everthing is OK with you and your family. The only reason that I (we) have not been to any matches recently is because we do not wish to support the current regime.

I'm notnd so bothered by the lack of strength in depth at Newport as the weaknesses that are always there; ie poor finishing and a defence that can go to sleep at key moments. Even against Bourne on Saturday,we only won 1-0? And there was the classics moment when the ball bounced along the edge of the area and we all thought "somebody hump it away! we'd be one down now if we were playing Cogenhoe, Potton, Wellingborough or Boston!" (Sorry if I left out any other teams that finish well; the list isn't meant to be exhaustive!)
