Cut the holiday short, bloody caravans so uncomfortable, i don't know how those New Age Travel thingamabobs cope with it
Cheers Mr Salako for the reports. I was getting text goal alerts for the Bugbrooke game which nearly gave me a heart attack...never doing that again.
Great win v Tad's lads who are a real force on any given day so to get a win at their place is brilliant for the lads.
Heard the Irchy game was a bit dull but then those 11 am early kick off jobs normally are.
Good side Irchester no doubt and great to read Passit saying he thought we gave a good showing especially with a very young side out. I heard that Caswell scored a lovely finish from the edge but one of our 16s missed a one on one at the the death
I think that lad needs a bloody good telling off and some extra shooting practice
I hope Irchy go on and win it now as i do believe they are the best team in the league.
Mr Salako, interesting point you make about
a club not to dissimilar to your own' and i welcome views from all comers on my next piece of writing...
IRCHESTER and BPW have been basements boys give or take one or two for the best part of the last decade and i think both are now enjoying some success but in different ways...
Heres my point, i think both clubs deserve some credit as both clubs have undoubtedly recognized a need for change. Something significant that can possibly change the constant finishing near the bottom year in year out.
This is where i believe the beauty of football keeps us all absorbed..
IRCHESTER- Appointed a hugely ambitious manager who wants to win leagues and get to the top very quickly.
Nothing wrong with that at all especially when the facilities of the club are being improved to a higher grade at the same time. Yes, it costs money but doesn't everything these days and who wants to finish bottom every year
Daren Young has given Irchester an opportunity to kick on that was not there before and they have taken it. If Daren was to go and manage Liverpool tomorrow ( and i think he would do a better job than Rafa ) then Irchester are in a much better position than what they were before his charge. They will be an attractive challenge for somebody like minded to come in and take it on.
BPW- The club nearly went under in the summer and did not even have a full team. The club put their faith in Scully ( they didn't have much choice) who's vision was to improve all aspects of the club to give it a fighting chance for the future. Out with the old and in with the new and it had to be done without a penny spent. Scully working alongside Director of Football Kenny Gordon have revolutionized a club that was going nowhere and has given the club hope of not only surviving but blossoming into a local club that people can be proud of, old and new.
Even then there are no guarantees and the axe hovers over many clubs in this day and age almost from week to week, but having that
hope is what its all about
At BPW now. we are convinced we have the right people in the right places doing the jobs they are best at. We are delighted with Kev and the lads at the moment but the effort and promise has been there all along and is becoming to bear fruits.
We hope to develop as a team and club much further before the season finishes and that Kev will do well for us and build on the foundations set. He is without doubt pro playing young local players.
We have a great group of football people working together on and off the pitch...I believe Irchester to have the same but working in a different way for different goals.
I say fair play to both clubs because they have tried to break the habits of the last decade and while the Wanderers will finish lowly again, we hope this to be the last season this happens. That was always the plan, so I'm told
I can only say fair play to the likes of ON CHENS also as I'm told they have no budget ?
If that is the case then they are doing something very well. I think Tad does a great job at Bugbrooke although i imagine he would like to be further up the table on a more regular basis as hes had a few years there now...
Budget or no budget i think all the clubs and managers are doing are great job keeping the whole thing going and its the different personalities and ways of doing things that is the beauty of it all ;D
