Barring a near miracle, St Neots have won the Res Div 1 Title this season. I would like to thank all the people from opposing clubs who have said what a great side we have there during their encounters with us this season and I do truly think, If it was at all possible, they would more than hold their own in Division One.
Well done to all the management team, physios, players and even the parents who have ferried their young sons to matches as they aren't old enough to drive yet and of course the supporters who have cheered the lads on during the campaign.
The lads are now looking to win their second cup final on wednesday night when they take on Somersham Town first team in the Hunts Benevolent Cup, the team they beat 6-1 to lift the Hunts FA Intermediate Scott Gatty Cup earlier this season.
Well Done Lads....you've been a pleasure to watch

St Neots have always been able to field a competitive reserve team, but this seasons side has been quite exceptional. A blend of very good young players with one or two more experienced heads, has enabled them to complete a quite exceptional season.
I am sure that good crowd support too has helped them to achieve their success.

Diverting the thread slightly why can't reserve teams progress into Div 1 etc? For example recently Woodford got promoted but their Reserves cannot progress, wouldn't it improve the standard of Div1 if things were more flexible?

This seems like a good idea Snowman and would certainly shake things up a bit at the lower end of Division One.
Not sure though of all of the implications which might upset the entire structure of the UCL?

I agree this does seem like a good Idea, but it also opens up a can of worms other leagues at our level do this For numbers it would be great, but after a few seasons you may end up with a bottleneck (IE teams blocking others progress) as Step 5 leagues are not allowed (officially) to have reserve teams
