Just a new thread regarding one of the matches i saw yesterday and would like to gage some opinion. I watched Wellingborough "reserves" play Desborough reserves yesterday and noticed that there were as many as 10 (that I recognised) 1st team regulars playing for Wellingborough. I know this sort of thing happens but surely it must annoy some of the genuine reserve players who would have got the call to be told that they were not needed, its probably too hard to monitor whether these players are 1st team regulars or not but seems a bit unfair to me and doesn't give a true reflection of the reserve league come the end of the season. Wellingborough 9 Desborough 0 Plus I notice on mitoo they are playing eachother again this weekend and wellingborough 1st team have Long buckby, i'll wager with anyone its not 9-0 again!

I have to agree do not see the point i think there should be a cap on first team players playing in the Res. Think its unfair on the players and the mangers aswell like you don't see 9-0 this week.

Your right hardfacts the game was a total farce and to be honest even the players and the reserve team management seemed embarrassed by it. Not really much of a game to be honest but the young Desborough side still gave it there all. Would be nice to see Desborough smash them this weekend

i can see a point to it. If a 1st team has not played for a while, then it makes sense to take a reserve game from the Stiffs if it is on. I am sure that last season Wellingborough played mainly 1st team players in all mid week reserve games towards the end of the season in an attempt to keep them in reserve Div 1 right?

have to agree to disagree do not see it as fair to the Res players that have to make way for big time players that would not normally give a monkeys damn about the res. The Res manager is left to pick up the pieces of that team and the players that have been left out no wounder players just swap around clubs and show no loyalty when clubs treat them like this. Didn't help Welling borough last season they only stayed up because of Stotfold went out of the league.

With your name then you should understand a clubs policy as hardfacts. 1st team and reserve teams are one club not seperate sides. Everyone reserve should have the drive to play in their 1st team. They are there to support their 1st team. There is no such thing as fair, as every reserve player has to make way for returning 1st team players who need games if they are not good enough to play 1st team football. Lastly if they are not good enough then they should move on to a different club. Every reserve player should knew clubs policy before signing. If there is a spot for a big time player, as you said, then thats the way it goes. You a reserve player by any chance? who maybe can not get into your own 1st team? It is not good reading to you what i have posted, but its the way almost all UCL clubs opperate. Football is never fair and thats a hard fact!

until the league changes the rules, then there is nothing wrong with it.

Wonder if there would be many complaints if it were the other way round? Reserves having to turn out for the first team?

as stated although i understand your point their are wright ways in dealing with leaving players out, Wellingborough must have felt really good about themselves beating Desb Res 9-0 lets see how that will help them against Long Buckby this weekend playing a Res side will improve there performance???
