We bowed out of the league cup tonight with a 4-1 loss, but I felt it was a bit harsh on the lads as they done very well at times during the match, and played some very good football at times.
We took the lead after four mins with a goal from Jason Turner, St Ives equalised on 30 mins thru Aaron Last, and St Ives put the pressure on leading up to half time, and top goal scorer Conor Washington nipped in and scored right on half time.
For our lads that was a real sucker punch.
Two more goals in the second half, Conor Washington getting his second on 70 mins to make it 3-1 and with 5 mins to go Grant Robbins decided to hit one from 30 yards out which flew over our goal keeper into the roof of the net.
I felt for our lads as losing 4-1 sounds a very comfortable win, but we played well and caused St Ives some problems all match, they put their chances away and we never to sum it up if I can.
Well done to St Ives on their win, good luck in the next round, there was a very good turn out of St Ives fans tonight, came over in very good numbers. Thoroughly enjoyed their company, met a few of the fans who go on their forum, and managed to put a face to the names which was nice.
Would like to thank all the St Ives fans who had food tonight, appreciate your support and thanks for the nice comments with regards the food, very much appreciated.
Would like to wish you guys all the best for the rest of the season and good luck in your next round of the vase.
Would like to say hard luck to our guys, another hard working performance, but didn,t get the result we wanted.
Nevermind we move on and now get our heads on to Northampton Spencer who we play at home to this "FRIDAY" night. Lets hope for a good crowd to cheer the lads on.
Nite Nite, I,m going bed now.
