What an afternoon Mrs Grissles the Grislets and myself picked to watch St Ives, cold and drizzly for the start, but a St Ives team that showed real intent. As always when i make my little journeys away, nicely looked after, picked up a St Ives scarf for 2 quid and a Gresley scarf for the price of a pint,(thanks Richie). First half was as you can imagine both sides up for it,Gresley had one disallowed for i think offside, then St Ives really took hold of the game and went in 2 up at half time.Gresley having had their No6 dispatched for an early bath i think for basically abuse towards an official, but you will have to wait for the official verdict. Second half i think carried on in the same way with the Ives on top, managed to put away another couple,Gresley No8 off for a bad tackle i think, but for my money there was only one team in it.St Ives fans and Gresley fans were both in agreement i think, that the better team was St Ives, would just like to add best performance i have seen from St Ives and Gresley were,(by their own fans admission terrible/worst they have played this season). Many thanks to both sets of fans for making us welcome, and well done St Ives along with PNS carrying the UCL into the next round. ;D

He spends more time watching other teams than he does watching Vera now... Think he must be a scout! Well done to St Ives and PNS on the wins today..

Well done to both St Ives and PNS, having 2 teams in last 8 is great for the league, looking at 6th round draw both have a great chance of getting to Semi's.

Superb results for both clubs and a massive positive advert for the UCL.
PNS at home looks really promising and possibly St. Ives have the tougher opposition but whatever, good luck to both clubs!

I was just wondering if the "powers that be" had considered moving the Saturday games to the Friday night, or before, to allow both PNS and St Ives the benefit of some extra support from their fellow Clubs. Just a thought. Very well done to both sides.

Kev, superb proposal ... us clubs only have to agree it between ourselves anyway so why don't we set the ball rolling and play our game on Friday night then we can go support PNS on Saturday? I'll ask Stan the man to get the ball rolling - Brilliant! Jeff

Great idea Kev, Jeff you may even get more on the gate with groundhoppers who want to do both etc you have to agree it between yourselves, but also need to consider officials and press need to be notified, I would arrange it yesterday or as close as possible

Well kev, it seems that it can't happen as your boys have a Hinchingbrooke Cup game on the wednesday before (not on Mitoo yet) and need that extra few hours to regain their strength ;D worth the try though. Stand down everyone.
Anyway, probably works out better for us as Clippos just texted me that even though he'd play he would be struggling with 3 key players. Phew - that was close! See you a week on Saturday. Jeff

Even I forgot about the Hinch Cup game when I posted in the first place and spoke to you on the phone, must be my age! Why does Clippo need pianists in his team anyway Jeff?
