Stewarts & Lloyds Corby Football Club can confirm that joint First Team Manager, Daren Young, has resigned his position at the club.
The Committee would like to take this opportunity to publically thank Daren for his contribution during his tenure at Occupation Road. Daren arrived at the Club in July last year as joint First Team Manager alongside Lee Duffy. In a total of 42 games, results had a 50% win rate and included reaching the recent Hillier Cup Semi-Final only to be defeated by Brackley Town. We all wish Daren well in any future ventures he undertakes recognising his passion for the game will lead to our paths crossing again in future.
Lee Duffy will continue in the role of First Team Manager.

Seem's to jump ship every 12-18 months whatever team he's at. PNS, Huntingdon, Irchester & now S&L Corby. Very good manager but seem's to leave when going gets a little tough. Shame really as he has ability to be a top UCL manager. Good luck for the future anyway Daren & hopefully see you back in the UCL Prem very soon.

Does well in Div One with his cash and then can't hack it in the Prem. Proof of the pudding is in the eating, no argument.

My understanding is that Darren Young was putting more money into the club each month than the Committee members at Occupation Road.

Do joint managers ever work ? Not many in football league ! Regards money, I have been at an S&L game this season, boxing day, derby day and the players hung around like fly's round sh&t waiting for the pay packets, some not even buying a drink before leaving right away. These perhaps the same players that played at Irchester, huntington etc and came with Daren ? Players need to support there clubs so that teams do not need a sugar Daddy. No doubting Daren has given not only his money but time, but that is all short term. Longterm, staying having a few beers after the game and some banter instead of milking what they can £££ wise and going and spending that cash somewhere else. That is how clubs should function/plan. Just look at Irchester now
