Huntingdonshire FA Senior Cup Round 2
Yaxley 1 Ramsey Town 0
Tuesday, 05 December 2006
A healthy crowd at Leading Drove saw Huntingdonshire Senior Cup holders Yaxley make a start to their defence of the trophy with a first half performance entrenched in the visitor’s half and home ‘keeper Lee Jordan touching the ball 3 times - and that was for goal kicks.
However, the visitors were not going to lie down and allow the Cuckoos inflict the goal avalanche that many were predicting and despite a relentless bombardmen, it was a strike from skipper Ricky Hailstone after 29 minutes that proved enough to take the Cuckoos into the last eight.
The second half was more balanced as the visitors were aided by the strong tail wind and there were a couple of close calls at both ends.
All in all, not the most exhilarating game seen this season but The Cuckoos are comfortably through to the next round.

So Yaxley have Long Bucby this Saturday then and not Newport Pagnell? I noticed the fixtures had been changed on Football Mitto and the Yaxley website. On the NP website it has Yaxley v Newport. Hope they know its been changed! ;D
