tonights cup final between stneots res and fletton res apparently abandoned by the ref after players where pelted by bottles and coins by the fletton supporters then fighting broke out between supporters - understand the police have been called

sounds like fun and games at somersham fc tonight

anyone there and what the hell happened

i have just been told that there was a stoppage for 30 mins, while the police sorted out the trouble, and then they completed the game.

I have never witnesssed anything like this before at our level....unbelievable scenes.

It appeared to be sparked off by a 'FAN'?? throwing a coin at the Saints players , then a bottle was launched onto the pitch too.
it then all kicked off and the players were taken back to the dressing rooms as the referee had been made aware that one of the Fletton 'FANS'?? had a knife.

Dont want to say any more, just that I thought the referee had a poor match, letting too much go but did redeem himself by handling the INCIDENT very well indeed.

Now, I just hope the Hunts FA do the right thing
