Anyone know why the Spencer v Corby S & L was abandoned last night.

Match abandoned after 63 minutes, score Spencer 3 S&L 0.
Three players went in for a loose ball and an S&L player sustained a bad leg injury - those present tell me a badly broken leg. Not a malicious tackle, just one of those tragic accidents.
By the time the poor guy had been stretchered off to an ambulance, S&L declined to continue the game - quite understandably in my opinion, even though I wasn't there. The ref was left with no alternative but to abandon the game.
I do hope the poor guy is as comfortable as possible under the circumstances, and that he is receiving the very best of care. If anyone from S&L is reading this, please let us know of his progress.

After the poor lad from Olney this makes 2 in a week. Best wishes from Whitworths to the lad for a speedy recovery and I agree with S/L and trust the league are as compassionate when debating the abandonment.

It happened again yesterday. Spencer lad had a really bad ankle injury which needed an ambulance. The lad trod on the ball and popped his ankle, another freak accident. Ref waited 45 mins and then abandoned the game as restarting may cause injuries to players. Good decision in my opinion as the last thing we want is 22 players pulling muscles after restarting the game again.

Fractured tibia and fibia, dislocated ankle and displaced ankle joint (whatever the difference means).
The Spencer player didn't tread on the ball, he was attempting to kick a ball in the air and a Desborough player's challenge took his standing leg (not maliciously I'm told). I'm also told (by players on the pitch) that Spencer wanted to continue, but Desborough refused.
