Spencer Reserves turned up on Saturday to find a deserted Leading Drove, and no game to play.
Apparently someone from Yaxley had "sent an email during the week" to let Spencer know that the game had been postponed.
Just one email to one person. No phone call. Not even a Read-Receipt. Hardly surprising that the message didn't get through.
Is this acceptable?

Totally Unaceptable. We were at Spencer yesterday and i understand the email went to the programme editor who was away in France on business for the week. Apparently the fixture secretary does not have email. As the game was cancelled on the Monday i think John Walker will put his hand up and apologise for his mistake. The league should pay Spencers expenses and ensure the postponed game is played on a Saturday rather than midweek so to avoid any further inconvenience to them

On the wonderful "Allan Crick's Guess The Results Line" last night, he mumbled something about no game due to Cup duties! What? Blackstones are at Yaxley Reserves on Tuesday night coming, or are they..................

I believe the game was called off due to Yaxley Res players being required to play a county game either on Sat or Sun and if they have more than 4 players called up the game can be cancelled.
