The time is 19.21... The Stotfold vs Spencer game was called off at 18.50 due to Spencer having 'no players'... Firstly, it's very late notice and un-professional on Spencers behalf. Surely if you don't have enough players you'd know sooner?!?! Secondly, it'll be very interesting to see what the league managers do about this no show. Stotfold have many games left to play and surely can't be dealing with games being re-arranged due to other teams sloppy management so late on in the season! It'll certainly be interesting to see how many first teamers Spencer take to Stotfold tomorrow night... Anyone from Spencer want to argue your point? I welcome it... Baller87

That'll be a £250 fine regardless. Plus I hope Stotfold claim for the referees expenses

As I said, I hope Stotfold claim for the referees expenses from the league. It has been done by other clubs and offsets the abortive costs of the home club.

Maybe Stotfold could claim off Yaxley to shorten the process?
Just a thought..........

Couldn't get enough players! For christs sake, is this a proper League or what. The pair of 'em, Stotfold Reserves and Spencer Reserves are holding everybody up for different reasons. Wet pitches, no players, what next..no Brown envelopes! Feel sorry for Stotfold in some ways, they only have EIGHT out of the last NINE games at Home! They all moan at me about the pride we have in getting games on!!!!

hhhhmmmm although a lot of games ave been called off at stotfold because of the pitch, it is not as unprofesional as a team leaving it till that time to call it off and funny how they only had 6 players not the required 7 to play (although i dontblame them for not wanting to play stotfold with just 7 players),as stotfold beat them earlier on in the season and made them look what they are turning out to be a sunday league type outfit.DISGRACEFUL

You didn't fancy turning out for the ressies then Bugga?!? ;D OOh no - not at my age! Besides, as far as the reserve league goes I'm now more towards Cogenhoe. what they are turning out to be a sunday league type outfit.DISGRACEFUL This is a tad hard on a handfull of individuals who work extremely hard to make games happen, usually under very poor circumstances (floods etc). And still they manage to produce one of the best playing surfaces in the league when the River Nene allows it. Calling those particular people Sunday League is out of order. Credit and criticism both where they are due.

The reason Stotfold have so many home games left is because the league gave us TWELVE of their first sixteen games away from home. The Reserves have had three games called off at home, two in recent weeks plus two further games because the opposition couldnt raise a team. The backlog is also due to being unbeaten in all competitions this season aside from the League Cup game at Blackstones when they lost in extra time. So far this season they have also played five games against pretty much the oppositions first team as well.

It's nice to hear you complimenting your reserve side for once patemondo...
I couldn't have put it any better myself! The reserves at Stotfold have been a formidable force this season in all competitions and i don't think they get the credit they deserve alot of the time. I know that the main focus of clubs is usually the first team but let me repeat a popular saying on this forum, credit where credit is due... It must be hard for Stotfold reserves, with the first teams success this season perhaps their own success has been overlooked.
It's good to hear you on here sticking up for the reserves and praising them in the process. Good luck to the ressies for the rest of the season!
Good luck to Northampton Spencer tonight... I'm sure you'll manage to pull a team together from somewhere!!! HA!!!
