Has anybody else noticed that Huntingdon have had 3 penalties in their first 4 games???
When Thrapston played them they got a last minute penalty when a player clearly dived! The most embarrasing thing is some of their players were heard bragging how they'd managed to con the referee again!!
I'd be ashamed if I was the manager surely he should have a word unless he's happy to obtain points with his players diving all other the place!!

it sounds a bit far fetched but it is like the influxe (wrong spelling) of foreign players, although these players are not foreign they are from out of town, i dont think the huntingdon local lads had the mentality 2 dive! on some occasions last season u sometimes felt they were sometimes a bit 2 honest trying 2 stay on there feet! anyone agree? disagree?

I think last years players tried to stay on their feet for fear of falling down the cracks on the pitch, watch town do a goddy, a season and a half ( maybe half a season) and the manager will be gone (probably sacked by the committee) and would have took his mercenaries with him. Then where will town be, I for one will never go back, unless there is a new chairman and committee. Its a ucl set up with a sunday league committee

Where ever the players are from I don't think its a coincidence that they've had 3 penalties already.
It will be interesting to see what happens in their next games but the referee's need to look out for the diving with them!

If the strikers pressure the opposition enough, then free kicks and penalties are going to come sooner or later. Huntingdon are playing all out attacking football and running at the opposition rather than hoofing it upfield like most teams are doing. if defenders bundle them over rather than make clean challenges, they are going to give away pens.

Good example was the game v Northampton spencer. Lad came on as sub on the right wing, ran the tired defence ragged with his pace, ran from 40 yards out straight into the box and was taken out. If he wasn't taken out he would have scored. the message board the next day was full of posts from the home fans of a dubious penalty, which is totally ridiculous. If defenders are not hacking them down, then you will see more goals from the Town strikers. The goals that have come from play and not from penalties have been crackers, good one was the 1st one against Irchester by Luke Weston.

Brimble and Town Fan,
I was there for the Thrapston Town game which we lost 2-1 to the last minute penalty. Like i said earlier I clearly heard 2 players 'bragging' about diving and winning another penalty!!
Your obviously biased!!

The play leading up to the penalty was a ball across the box to the player that went down, both he and the Spencer defender were on the far side of the penalty area, near the goal line, with their backs to the goal. The Spencer defender tried to tackle him, he went down rather easily, and the penalty was awarded. Whether it was or wasn't a penalty, the main thing that annoyed us was that the player with the ball was causing no danger at all, so it was a needless giveaway. As for "running 40 yards" or "tired and ragged" ...... Huntingdon didn't pose any threat whatsoever to the Spencer defence all night.

4 penalties in 5 league games, 5 in 6 games including the spencer game, it soes seem very coinsidental that they have had so many penalties, if they aint careful they will get a reputation! cant help but think that the 'new huntingdon' is a bobble waiting 2 burst... like over the bridge said town will do a goddy!
