have you got an agreement with St Neots to provide them with talented youngsters??? or don't you try to keep them. So far Tom Moran, Ryan Hunt, Shane Fox and now Ryan Francis are in St Neots first team squad. And did you throw the groundsman in as part of the deal

Hey fred how ironic is this thread when i have posted comments on here about towns lack of ambition for the youngsters. Well i can tell you from experience that the heirachy at town tend not to look further than the end of their noses and it has constantly moaned about by more than 1 committee member up there as to how much it costs to run the under 18s. They didnt even support the under 18s when the groundsman (who is now with st neots) threatened an under player last season. These youngsters as you so rightly put it are leaving because they dont feel they are wanted or cared about an the attitude is well if you want to go then dont ever ask to come back. Its generaly said now that the committee up there are doing the very same thing as what they heavily criticised Goddy for last season and look whats happened to them. Its worth noting that the 1st team manager told shane fox that he did not have any chance of getting in to the 1st team whilst Francis was scoring as he was ..........little did he realise that would bite his backside soon after. i just hope that they now look after the replacement for both of them in lee bassett who made his 1st team debut under swannell on sat an scored for them. by the way he's from st neots and plays for towns under 18s maybe he's being primed ready for st neots too

Lord Byron, because you hadnt been on here for a while, I thought you had infiltrated the commitee , because with your passion, you ought too. People give up a lot of time to run a football club, So join the commitee and give them ambition not negativity, or even just offer a hand. Start at this weekends game, you have a county cup quarter final. I hope to be there, will you?

Ian you obviously dont know the goings on at huntingdon do you, cos if you did you wouldnt have put your comments on here. AMBITION is not a word that echos round there or they wouldnt if you read the contents of this thread let things go on as they do by letting youn talent go (now thats what i call negative). But as your an administrator cant you just stick to that and let freedom of speech prevail or are you on the committe there too

Lord B. Strange yo mentioned Lee Bassett as I have heard his name banded about at Rowley Park. Like I said, if Town can't or don't wont to hold onto these young players, then I'm sure we will be delighted to give them a chance.

as it happens, the reserves are very well manned up with strikers. Surely if Mr Bassett had wanted to come to Rowley Park, he would have done so by now. Having spoken to his father about three weeks ago, he made it plain that he had no intention to make the switch this season.

Ian you obviously dont know the goings on at huntingdon do you No I dont know exactly, but in an eerie kind of way I kind of feel as if i've lived through it with your posts over and over again AMBITION is not a word that echos round there or they wouldnt let things go on as they do by letting young talent go (now thats what i call negative). How do you know? every conversation I have had with people at Huntingdon has been ambitious, it may not be your kind of ambitious. As for letting young talent go, the talent may be there, but with a small squad you havent got the time or resources to nurture them until they get stronger. For example Arsenal and Man United can, but Peterborough and Lincoln cant. so its best to let the kids go and concentrate on the lads that can do a job....now. But as your an administrator cant you just stick to that and let freedom of speech prevail or are you on the committee there too Administrator/Comittee or not, I am all for free speech but lets have a balance, people can have a different point of view to yours without you trying to out them as a management mole. You can have a say in things if you really want, rather than just come on here and say the same old things. Move on or your in danger of letting it get to you PS will buy you a beer if I see you on Saturday

No I dont know exactly, but in an eerie kind of way I kind of feel as if i've lived through it with your posts over and over again........................................Ian why get involved then unless you have some hidden agenda regarding this ......if you dont want to as you put it live through it dont read it an get personally involved.
So far as ambitious at huntingdon i think you havent grasped as to why this thread started cos to me it seems that town HAVE become a feeder club to everyone else within the vacinity.
And maybe just maybe i'm someone who doesnt want to see huntingdon town become the laughing stock in the same way godmanchester have.
As for time or RESOURCES (big word that) Cambridge Utd, Peterborough Utd, Chester City, Italy Youth obviously think they have as townie already expressed on here. Which isnt a bad thing by a long way only the town supporters would probably like to see as much energy channelled into their own team too.
So far as moving on is concerned or it will get to you maybe it has but it shows i care and i dont think for one minute they are the same old things at all. If you dont want controversial things said why open a site like this.
So far as having a beer think we'll have to put that on hold for the time being as i'm either going to watch the young talented ex town players at st neots or maybe towns reserves Vs huntingdons towns other reserves who play under the banner of st ives now as i like to watch LOCAL players

I'm with the judge. An interesting thread. I think the problem with Town is stagnation. The chairman, secretary and some of the committee have been there since the club started (must be about 25 years). Therefore I believe they tend to think of Town as "their" club, which isn't a good thing progressively. Just look what’s happened at St Neots since their chairman was removed. They have moved along in leaps and bounds. So wake up Town, bring in some new blood committee wise. And move forward, you will never compete with St Neots whilst you are languishing mid table in the first division. What with their new set up and new stadium coming on stream next year players are bound to want to give it a go. After all there is no point in producing these fine young players if you are not going to try hard to keep them. or maybe you feel proud that young players that could have been the backbone of your club for years to come are now distributed around the county playing for Huntingdon RGE, Peterborough NS, St Neots Town, St Ives and Godmanchester. Finally as the person who started this thread I would like to say once again many thanks to Town for letting quality players slip through their grasp and prove their quality in a higher league
