www.virtualnames.co.uk are offering 50MB space, 2.5GB per month bandwidth, 10 POP3 mailboxes and other frippery for £20 per annum. No adverts or popups to fund it either. Does that sound like a good deal or are there better around? If there are better please let me know before I cough up.

About 5 years ago it was, now many hosts offer more for your money. eUKhost (whom I'm now using) have as their basic Copper hosting the following... - 200MB disk space - 2GB monthly bandwidth - Unlimited POP3 - PHP, Perl, and Ruby on Rails support - MySQL databases (handy for hosting forums) ...all for £22.99 www.eukhost.com/packages.php. Whilst they're basic package does give a bit less bandwidth overall I'd say it's better value for money. Personally I've only used 560Mb of bandwidth so far this month on StNeotsFC.com, which means I'll probably end up using 1.5Gb at most by the end of this month. I find they're support to be good, as they have their own forums, livechat, and support tickets. The VirtualNames website seems to be rather expensive when it comes to registering domain names. Sites such as www.ukreg.com offer domain registration at £2.95 for UK domains (+VAT) and £8.99 for globals domains (+VAT).

One slight concern I'd have with BigWetFish is that their 'Terms of Service' and 'Privacy Policy' pages are missing or at least the links in the footers produce page not found errors. Always slightly concerning when you can't scan through the terms, it would seem there are a few other dead links present on the site.
Also worth noting that support should always be an important factor in choosing a host, as when things go wrong you want them to be able to help resolve the problem fairly quickly.
