Get real m8 , This poll is not going to help you find that out . Figo / mazey will come on here soon and say that YOU are all wanted.....and to be fair that is the correct thing for a manager to do , unless he really really wants rid BUT managers would prefer to keep everyone THEN add to it , AND THEN narrow it down at a later date . Hope this helps you a little

The committee leave team and player selection to Joe and his staff but for the record all the names on the poll where very highly thought of last season by the folks behind the scenes and we would be saddened to lose any of them.

On the "what does Lee Mayes want?" vibe, how does he feel his pre-season has gone thus far? I watched the two derby games and felt that there is a good group of youngsters coming through. Sean Kilbane, Mallows and Raftery looked particulary impressive in midfield. Although the 1st team clash was easily won by wboro, the local talent was clearly in whitworths favour. Long may it continue. Does Lee feel he is on the right track and ready for another good season or does the lack of strikers worry him?

For Lee to answer but from what I hear from both Lee and Steve Bicknell they seem very excited about the coming season and should do very well. May not have as much fire power but much more solid through back and middle.............

But still, who is going to score the goals? After your fantastic finish last season, is getting a top two finish a realistic possibility? Goals win football matches and strikers deliver goals. No strikers,no goals, bottom half finish? Id like to see a wboro side do well in any league. I think that unless some local 'diamond in the ruff' is found, you'll be in the s@@t. I hope not.

Well BB it does not automatically equate that score most goals wins league though you cannot win the league without scoring goals. Last season scored a load and did well but 3 years ago our 1st team finished second in Div 1 on goal difference and didnt really score that many goals, so high finish is possible. The secret is not to concede any and not lose. Might not be the most exciting football though.........

Agreed. Thats the key though, entertaining. With charging a few quid to get in,punters are going to be needing entertainment on a Saturday afternoon, not a '1-0 to the Arsenal' scenario'. Its a difficult situation, either free flowing football a la Keegan's Newcastle or bore the pants off them a la George Graham's Arsenal. Unfortunately though, the boring stuff always seem to be more effective. So what do you do?

I think at this level the kids want to express themselves and you should play with attack in mind.........score some goals.........but dont forget someone has to defend! So experience mixed with youth and some disciplined but free flowing football. Always opportunities for others and maybe this season the goals will be shared around. Whitworth 1st team for example, maybe 5 or 6 players will get in double figures instead of 3 x 20?

Not qualified enough for that bag of tricks, I know my limitations and it is easier to sit on the side and always have the answer after the event...........
