As the forum states, Superscully is no longer at Rothwell Corinthians. What I would like to know is what are the players who left Whitworths going to do? Are they going to stay at Rothwell and enjoy the new challenge or go back to Whitworths to reclaim their place or try pastures new? It is clear that they left to join Scully at Corinthians and that begs the question of what next for the few? Will they continue to follow Scully to his next club?( Im not knocking it, a lot of players do follow managers) or get a club and stick with it?
It would be good to hear views from scully, Judgejohn, someone from Corinthians or even one of the players themselves?
Im not stirring up things, I think it would be interesting to find out conflicting views and opinions on the matter. It is quite topical and its better than talking about England's demise. C'mon folks join in.

Well as you have suggested BB I can confirm that a number of players have contacted Whitworths regarding a return and the main man at Corinths in totally in the loop about this. Clearly and assuming we would like to, we can only submit 1 request every 28 days. It needs Corinths to want to clear the decks as does occassionally happen, for all to move at once. Expect 1 to make the return trip very soon then the rest down to Corinths to be fair.
Regarding following Managers you are right that happens though in some cases players get swept along, but we won't be signing anyone that we risk losing the minute ss gets a new job.

Any club , at any time can lose any player .
I feel I'm being stigmatized here a little and no probs i can handle it .
I went to Corinth's and genuinely believed in the cause , i was given the green light to recruit as many good players as possible ..
In the summer thats what i tried to do along with every other manager in the world !!!
A few lads Ollie , macca , crossy who were disgruntled with Joe joined me ( i think that was all ) . Then there was Pete and Fitz who i brought to Whits
So not many really ?
I signed them plus Corby lads who hadn't played the season prior , i also was continually looking to add with permission given .
Ellwood from whits , Arnold from Irch and a couple more Corby lads
I then get fired !!!
Some lads think it is wrong and some are left with moral decisions to make .
Some have decided to leave , and couple of traitors LOL ( cross & Arnold ) have decided to stay !!!
No big deal
The lads that didn't feel right about staying are looking for other clubs and they have asked my advice
Again no big deal !!!
Even though i feel Ive been treated like nuts i am trying to put a brave face on it as Ive got broad shoulders
I went to Corinth's in the same vain as i went to whits ... with my heart on my sleeve and giving my very best , like Ive always done cos if you want to win leagues that is what you have to do !!!
Lads / people who know me well know that i put their best interests first before my own , and Ive already made sure they got plenty of options .
At the end of the day , any club signs a player cos they need them .
It could be you want that player short term or long term , but you don't always get what you want
And nobody owns players !!!
I think Corinth's should waive the transfers of all the players that want to leave because they knew this could happen and it was of their choice
You can't have your cake and eat .
If they make players , clubs play the 28 days waiting game then they are harming themselves .
And anyway all the players that want to leave didn't play Saturday and both Corinth's team won , so in theory they don't even need them .
I think Corinth's should have a little look at themselves in this whole sorry episode
I couldn't have done anymore to make it work and make it work well ...
Infarct many others managers have said to me that they would have jumped before pushed to save their own reputations but i felt i had a responsibility to the players i had persuaded to join to carry on
Even if the club didn't .

Just get back to BBS points .
All the lads are sorted , no probs there for the few .
Also it would nice like yourself , to stick to one club threw your whole carreer but thats fine if you are happy and getting out of it what you want or you are satisfied with it , perhaps if your good enough player to always play and 1st team at that makes it easier ...
Its not always as simple as that , fall outs , new challenges etc etc and everything is learning curve
As for following Scully , i have no plans to return to management in the next 2/3 years unless seriously tempted by something .
JJ , Would just like to point out that players didnt get " Swept along " a little far fetched that ...
Cross was always going back to Corinths , cos of friends and Family
Macca had left whits before xmas of last year anywhere
Fitz and Pete i brought to whits from corby and were never going to kee that journey up
So really only leaves Ollie , you could call a whits boy and he said he was going to play for comb side rather than go whits at the start of this season , so you need to put things into perspective a little
Also these players didnt leave whits , as all players are actually free agents in the summer , they just didnt re - sign thats all
Ellwood boys always have had issues with Joe aswell
So it was only really Ollie that was a surprise and he wasn't deemed good enough for your 1st team last season , so why would'nt he take the offer up somewhere else
JJ , please don't attack me on this subject i always do my best for players .
The players you are going to re - sign are coming back to you on my advice , please don't think you now own them forever
I certainly don't ever think that , it is up to your manager now to give them what they want or in future he risks losing them again .
Finally there are many managers in ucl div1 and come on this site that have had players follow them to the clubs , its a massive part of football
Doesnt mean its always going to happen .
If they are for instance they or Joe at your club were sacked , then you would expect to lose a player or 2
Thats how it is

Didn't mean to attack you ss and not sure having re-read my post that I did but for clarity the point I wanted to make and to be fair I have witnessed it my self, you get guys motivated to your style and who can blame them for wanting to follow you around. From a stability point of view we would have to consider re-signing a player to Whitworths if we thought 4 weeks later he could be at another club because you had a re-posting. There are financial implications to a club every time they transfer someone so need to consider this also. Incidentally I understand Deven played for Corinthians last saturday and they obviously do not want him to leave as is the case with Ollie, Fitz et al. Good luck to you though lad, maybe we will see you around at some point watching a game or 2.

OK fine you didn't attack me , just wanted to nip it in the bud b4 you did !!! The part i want to put straight is the " Following me around " I am not a ******* globetrotter although i do have many talents !!! For the record and i hope this clears it up ... Before the Whits offer came up last season , i was actually looking to move away from football managing but felt it was too good an opportunity not to try and i really enjoyed it , rekindled a passion if you like An offer then came in from Corinth's for the following season and due to traveling decided to accept ... As i stated on here , in my thoughts this was going to be my last club in football Can you remember me saying that ? I certainly meant it as i wanted to go there for a few seasons perhaps Through not much fault of my own it has not worked out that way !!! It still could very well be my last club in football , like i said it would be ... Even if i did have a chuckle at the info you received today !!! Just you and Billy-Boy got that info !!! In reponse to your posts at the top , i hope that got your mind ticking today !!! PNS LOL Anyway all the best

It made me think for ooh 2 minutes but then the hamster needed cleaning out so quickly forgot all about it. M8 I certainly dont see you as any pied piper, even now as WT consider their next move, the managers shorlisted will have players they will be promising to that Executive crew so run of the mill stuff. On a serious note i was looking forward to seeing where in the Div 1 you might turn up next, Irchester crossed my mind but with travelling an issue i thought not, same goes for Sileby and in fact most of the others including Bucks. Only really leaves a return to Corinths

I'm slightly confused on what info I am supposed to be receiving or recieved. How would you contact me unless through this website? Do we have our wires crossed Mr Scully or do you think you know who I am? I would be surprised if you do know as we have never formally met and are not likely too either.

I still don't get what info I have supposedly received? Am I being really dim or is this a private Whitworths joke?
Anyhow, its good to see with all the departures(pre-season and recently) the club is still a success. Apart from the Daventry freak result, its been a successful season so far and long may it continue.
Its good to see the club bringing through youngsters as they have always done. These players, if they remain at the club, will provide a bright and entertaining future.
One more thing, what ever happened to Figo?

He'll take plenty more if he don't get you promoted If your manager of a club like Whitworths then taking nuts and flak comes with the terrority Perhaps he can't hack it He used to come on this forum when there wasnt so many members and he had most of these muppets eating out of his hand But in the last year , the site has got up a level on the warning front and cheesy figo can't hack it He can say what he likes about the ET but he knows he is scared to come on this site His ego cant hack it Figo's plan - He is hoping to finish in a promotion place then he will come on here saying " Blah Blah Blah I wanted to let the football do the talking etc etc etc " Figo will always take nuts whatever , when you have a nose as big as his it would be hard not to Not a bad manager though i must say , he knew how to handle me ( 90% of the time ) and get the best out of me and that takes some doing so he must be half decent , only one other manager done that and that was Dunion when i was a player But will he get promotion Players coming back , squad getting stronger at a vital time and a secret weapon in the way of James Westley Will he walk if he doesn't He should do , cos if he don't then he's just a manager who won the league the year all the other teams were nuts ... With the head and shoulders best squad in the league Whenever there's a couple of other decent teams in the league , Whitworths have come up short .

BillyBoy, its been a long time since you appeared on these pages and now, like a London bus your comments are all comming at once. And fine comments they are, indeed it is good to see young players being given a chance by Whits, its a policy they have pursued vigorously and it has payed off but when the money calls they leave, such is the nature off the game. They tell me there is a good keeper now playing in the Res,getting his chance while Craig is banned, I belive his name is Baxter ! As for all this secret communication with SS, now that is a worry. Tell all !!! It is said in high places that a secret team is being lined up for the England job, have I stumbled on a plot, BB and SS to take over? ?

"Just you and Billy-Boy got that info". Those were the words that are giving me sleepless nights and the confusion has yet been cleared up by Superscully. As for the keeper in the ressies, if its the same one as I saw pre-season then I agree with you,he is a good goalie. Lee Baxter, he plays for Millers, but you know that already dont you. What do think about the original thread Mr Pringle? Do you think players will learn from 'following managers' or do you think that once again its all part of the game?
Glad to hear that monsieur Figo is still out and about. I would like to hear his view on the subject too. Maybe he will grace us will his presence in the near future?
