Game is still on, despite the atrocious rainfall of late. Should be a good game. "John Boy"

Yup! It was not a bad game. We lost 0-3 and in the opinion of many, it was a justifiable result. The difference in class was very obvious and at times we were given the runaround but I suppose that was to be expected from a far superior side like Brackley. Their football was excellent and nice to watch, something my team should aspire to. However, it was a friendly, and the side need to knit together. No judgements on performance until the season proper begins. Hopefully, things are learnt from all these pre season games. We are at home to our near neighbours Whitworths on Friday evening, should attract a decent crowd I would imagine. Please dear God, don't let it rain. The Wellingborough Town groundsman worked a miracle for the game against Brackley and I was surprised that he was able to get the pitch up to scratch for the game, he is to be applauded. "John Boy"

Apart from the flattened mole hills, the pitch was in excellent condition. With all this rain we've had recently, the ground was pretty firm.
All credit to the groundsman.
