Work on the floodlights has begun, cabling in, pooring concrete today, columns in 6 weeks along with 100 seats. Good pre season news.......................who would have thought it eh? Whitworths with a floodlit ground!

Thanks all, the stand is going Changing room end and then all that area will be tarmac and a floodlit car park. Taken 2 years to get to this..........bloody hard work to be fair but now very exciting. All works including car park etc will be complete for march 09 but lights and seats etc 6 weeks estimate. look forward to welcoming you all next season.  |

Great news JJ and I must say a big well done,a lot of people should say thank you for that.

I like that Pringle, has a real good ring to it and may well have to suggest that, alternatively something like 'old bailey' but seriously stands up for sponsorship if you or your friends want to chuck a few quid in  |

It will be good to see Whitworths floodlit at long last. Great effort from the few concerned. Hope the stand is built on stilts to protect it from mother nature!!

Sporty , sounds like ur going back to whitworths ? did hear yesterday that JB at welly has bombed u out already . I hope thats not true without him giving u the chance 2 fight 4a place , which u should defo do 4 sure and he . If he doesn't give u that chance he will go the same way as all the rest that ignore local talent . Another appointment that looks good on paper but does not deliver . Good luck anyway and keep Ur chin up AND remember u can go back and play at division 1 anytime u like , so u cant lose really and dont need 2 rush or worry about a decision . All the best , u r good enough

nah Gazza not gone back to whits just have alot of friends there ill be down wellingborough on the 26th battling for my place i know when i put my mind to it and practise and learn i can be just as good as any1 so dont worry bout me!!! were r u nxt year?

Glad 2 hear it . 2 answer your question i will be watching and supporting 3 teams as i always do . I have 3 lads ( the eldest who was at the same club as u the season before last ) who is not sure what team to sign for yet . My youngest who looks like going to sign at Sileby and my middle lad who has played at Cogenhoe for the last 3 seasons , so i do have to get about a bit !!! Sporty , Keeping fighting to play in the top division even if it does not work out at welly , raunds and spencer always an option 2 . Division 1 is always there as a last option and I'm not convinced Whits or Irchester will finish in the top 2 whether u play for them or not . All the best with it |
