BB, Some things are not what they seem, Some people might be more involved with a club than you know!!!! Some people can look at themselves and what they have done in the game and relise they are "Big Enough" BB, I dont know who you are but have always enjoyed football banter with you but just look for a second at that post. Certain people on these forums I would expect that from but not you!!!

I totally agree. The thread has gone wayward much of which is me. Maybe my wires are crossed, maybe I was a little overboard. I still think names shouldnt be mentioned which was Gazza(possibly scully?) and not you. Can we be chums again? Confusing

Not jumped ship gazza just got different challenges within the club to help sustain ground developments that I am still involved with. Joined the club when we lost alot so not worried about the odd game. With no money our club exists to develop talent and help it to move on as well as enjoy any good times that benefit from that. We initiated the Foster move to Cogenhoe because he deserved the chance, Ben followed and then Sporty all for better chances and money but also we could not be promoted. CJ came in from an average reserve season scoring only 9 goals, and di great in our first team........opportunity there without Foster or Holley. He is now at Raunds and I hear getting cash plus opportunity. Connections enabled Goose to get the run at Spalding and he now has opportunities. If Black and Belfon perform this season I imagine they will also get opportunities. This is what the club exists for and I think we have done a great job and achieved some history along the way. There will be more in future years I am sure but the club needs to evolve and that needs more people involved and other initiatives implementing. Sustainability

Sustainability That all makes perfect sense but makes Baxter's comments all the more confusing in the way he takes players leaving for a higher level for some pocket money that may help them in their young lives so personally , whether it be at the begin middle or end of season - as the chance may not come again and at the end of the day who is billyboy anyway ? The warm up man for the reserves !!! Good luck in the new role Judge , not that you will need it and hopefully ill still see you about at London Rd now and then

Im not slating you, You are a fantastic young talent, Im just giving my opinion. Im sure you have many opinions about different things dont you? Dont take everything so seriously, relax and remember they're only words. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Please don't tell players they r fantastic young talents just so they will have a conversation with you . Sporty is a decent young player with the potential to play and get paid in the prem division on a regular basis , however it will take hard work and dedication on his part to make that happen , he will also b able to listen 2 ideas about areas of his game that can be worked on . I know that Spaughton will not come up short on any of those 3 things require . Sporty , Please take this advice . Stay at Welly and see how things work out in the first couple of months . A new manager always has new ideas and players and I'm not suggesting THAT YOU WONT BE PART OF HIS PLANS because i think you could and will be BUT if the worst case scenario happens and you end up in the ressys then take the hit and the challenge to prove that you will fight 4 your place . Please do not drop back down to div1 with Whits or 2 Irchester which Ive heard recently too easily . Stay with a prem club 4 aslong as you can and have hope of playing 1st team and getting paid . Don't fall for anything else that Billyboy ( baxter ) or judgejohn say as they have not got your best interests at heart , they are selfish . Like i said please take the advice and i repeat you are a very good young ( even at 23ish) player capable of playing a couple of different positions at a decent level and get paid for it but it isn't always easy or every1 would be doing it !!!

Dont include me in the selfish category gazza as i hope Sporty would say I am certainly not that. I have been happy for all the lads that have developed at whitworths and gone on to other opportunities and cash if possible and I think that has been made clear in many of my posts.
I guess though you are saying better to be in the reserve team of a Prem side pushing for a Prem place than competing in a 1st Division side that may compete for the league. Sorry but not good logic for me. If WT manager brings in Southern League boys and the gulf between them and the reserve team is too great, you are more likely to be picked up by another prem side if you are performing in Div 1. Ask CJ................no-one interested whilst he was at top end of Reserve Div 1 but as soon as he was in Div 1 he gets an opportunity.
For me Whitworths 1st team is a better prospect that WT reserves.......................not saying that is where Sporty will be but the players coming in are not mugs and the team being assembled is one to compete in the southern League not the Prem.

Thats y i said 2 give it a couple of months Its a valid point and one that you can make without trying to frighten the lad back down to whitworths with this scary talk of southern league players that r no mugs - thats out of order . Also u try 2 dress yourself in glory that you encourage these boys to play higher but only after they have decided to leave your club and u finally accept u cant hold on2 them . I know that Joe Smith fought tooth and nail 2 hang onto all the lads that went onto the premier infact he tried every trick in the book and thought he had actually talked foster in2 staying and when he found out he was not JS was distraught . So please judge don't make yourself out to be some sort of martyr of a ' free footballing academy '. U do anything and everything always in the best interests of your club ... thats fine but i don't agree with the scare tactics on a website you know the lad reads . Lets have it right about these ' no mugs ' Welly have signed so far ... Tom Fountain who i know . Good player , very strong all rounder and good head on his shoulders but hes not a flair player - just solid & the boys from Spencer they have signed are Hardly world class . Sporty if he works damned hard and shows hes willing to fight can compete with these lads . Having been in a similar experience myself many moons again , i was dropped into a reserve team of a prem club and it felt like the world had ended !!! and wanted 2 leave asap . My dad said that i should not give it up without a fight and to give it at least 6 weeks , that way making a better decision through time , better thinking and better judgment . I put in some top performances for the ressys and cos of injuries was back in the 1st team inside 3 weeks and went onto play every game for the rest of the season getting paid a handy £ 45 a game plus a £ 5 win bonus ... and that was alot of money back then !!! Judge , sure the boy is likely to come back to you one day but not without a proper go at the higher level and u should b encouraging him do that . Also i am surprised that you consider your club as a team that will be competing for the league Or is this your way of hoping to interest players in joining by making them believe this . The facts are that give or take 1 or 2 players .. your / the team that starts next season will be alot like the team / squad the finished last season and on that form you are likely to be competing at the other end of the table . Sorry to burst any bubbles but its the way i see it but i must say i do admire your cheeky mind games and depths of desperation that you will go to for your club . Have heard the work looks good and that will help
