Just wondering why nobody posts anything on here about their Reserve teams? After all without them their first teams would'nt be a lot of good. So anybody any thoughts or comments?

I have some comments but didnt want to be the first or make people think i was bigging up the club or being cocky, but what a turn around for BPW reserves, not seen much of the other teams in res div but Thrapston I would say were the better of the teams i have seen play apart from BPW. But will be interested in seeing some of the other clubs to see what they are up against for the season

I think i remember that game albeit a while ago now. Its going ok thanxs footballfan. We have a mixture of youth and a couple of 'experienced' players. Basically the lads just enjoy playing their football especially when they are winning.

Ianh What result and what a game it was ! We expected a tough game and got one. Billy Munton came on at half time, changed the formation and the game. A superb hat trick in front of his family and friends who were giving him stick about his age and weight ! Stand in keeper Dan Jarman pulled off a penalty save in extra time too. The only downside was the referee who was very poor and gave all the big decisions Rutlands way. Hope it is Sleaford next , we owe them one fronm last season !

Often go with our reserves. Turned up for the first match and there were 13 total strangers - not a one from the promotion year! Having said that they are thrill a minute with a 6-3 win last week and a 5-3 this week! They play some good football and want to win but are better behaved than the Prem teams. Having said that they have to put up with some shocking refs. Tuesday night said he wouldn't leave the centre circle and he was right. Didn't see a flag 4 times - quite oblivious. Sat's was more interested in imposing the respect agenda than giving free kicks for fouls.

Lineoh and Lino you can expect the RESPECT police to be knocking on your doors any time now. Surely you are both aware that you are only permitted to praise officials regardless of their performance !

Stones Reserves have a new man in charge this season, Gary Peace, who was boss of our Under 18's last season. Great guy, with really good contacts in the area and he has had a good start to the season. We are much the same as last season but one or two have stepped up to the first team and two or three from the U-18's have moved up to the Senior squads. We've had TWO Saturdays without a game which is a bit maddening and hampers continuity but I'm sure when we really get into the season we'll be fine. Always difficult to call the Reserve Div One but my guesses for top five, in no particular order, are Stones, Stotfold, Bourne, S & L and Whitworths, based on previous seasons! Great thread because Clubs should be about TWO teams, not us and them!
