This season the FA deemed it necessary to bring in a Respect the Referee campaign. Yesterday i witnessed the sort of display from a referee that incurred the wrath of both teams and management staff alike. To be blunt, how can referee's expect Respect when they turn up 20 minutes before kick off, look scruffy and give the sort of performance on the pitch that bordered on farcical. His decision making was comical ( like his kit ! ) He constantly got decisions wrong or changed them. Players got away with abuse , dissent and striking an opponent. and i mean from both sides, im not pointing the finger at any team. Seriously though this guy should be struck off the referee's list before he causes a game to end in a mass brawl. He was lucky it did'nt happen yesterday.

agree with every thing you say lineoh i saw the majority of the game and yes he was a disgrace i think credit should go to both teams for recognising this and getting on with the game nothing will be done though he wont be assessed because its only a reserve game

I have to back up Lineoh on this one. I know refs get a tough time but some don't help themselves. Yesterdays performance was terrible and both teams were constantly left baffled, infuriated and amused for the full 90 mins. We were lucky that quite a physical game never bolied over - I think both sets of players need to take credit for that. However, how we finished wih 11 men I'm not sure...it wasn't particularly malicious but if you raise your hands you're usually in trouble.
On a slightly different subject...really enjoyed the visit to Bourne. A very hospitable welcome, a pleasant chat and a cup of tea delivered to the dugout at kick off. The club has had a bit of a hammering on here of late so I thought I'd give them some 'respect' of their own! ;D
