You might not be able to answer this Pat, but who by? It's a forum, we need views from everyone, it's called healthy debate and as long as it doesn't get too personal, that's the whole point. Don't chose not to post Pat, stick to your guns and your opinions, it's good to hear from ex-players that are now on the management side and , more importantly, probably have at least 20 YEARS experience of the UCL and all of it's quirks.

RE. I note that they have shut down the site on the Stotfold Manager after your last post. It was probably the correct thing to do but I think you put your point over. Hope your brother is well.

Some of the management changes for next season, with a few more clubs operating with budgets (though not all would admit it!) would suggest that div 1 is going to be competitive next year.
Ridgeway at Thrapston is an interesting one and Al is making some decent signings at Huntingdon. Add in DY back in the fold at Irchester, which will improve them no end as well. Eynesbury & Wootton also have new men in charge, though I don't know much about them.
R&H, Whitworths, Buckingham, Kempston, Bugbrooke, Sileby & ON Chenecks are all capable of mounting promotion pushes already and Scully is not going to let BPW stand still - only leaves Olney I think who beat us last year anyway!
For PNS replacing 76 goals through Gibbs & Paul is a challenge naturally, but the guys have a budget to play with, which is appropriate and decent for Div 1 and with some of the names we have lined up and good chunck of last years squad intact we won't be far away again.

Good post Tommy, well balanced. Think I'll try and get to a few more Div 1 games this season, as it does look live being more competitive, a bit like the Premier last season. Haven't seen enough to comment "fairly" but looks like five or six will be involved, which can only be good as it creates extra interest and hopefully, spectators.

Looks like Eynesbury are having a good preseason and are not missing Mr Lenihan & Co too much. Have to put them in the pot as well as Irchester. My tip Sileby not doing so well and PNS keep winning. Counts for nothing until league starts. I will stick with Sileby to come good ahead of Rushden, Whitworths & Kempston with PNS 5th and Irchester 6th

I saw PNS play Yaxley at the weekend. If they keep hold of Ryan Francis, i think they'll win it again. That said, throwing the sort of money he's ona round in UCL 1 seems untoward, if that's the right word. It's a lot of money for the UCL prem and would put most of Stamford's players 'expenses' to shame.

PNS will win it again. not sure about 2nd but would seem Kempston and sileby are joint 2nd fav.
Local interests for me can not see past that.

Andy dont believe that because someone posts on here what a player is getting it is true. Darren has had to put up with that for years and Jamie Graham is on a kings ransom at Huntingdon apparently if you believed the silly rumours. Players themselves big up what they are on to try and play 1 club off against another. For what its worth I have heard budget at PNS is £400 a week which ties in with what they have said about it which is that it is decent but not stupid. I am not a big fan of some of the people there but don't think they should be given stick over money this year, just losing to Irchester!

Well, i overheard him telling his family that although it was a step down, he was geting £200 to sign and £100 a game.
Jamie won't be getting anything for a few months!

Probably trying to justify his decision?

Possibly, though it looks like Soham don't fancy him for the coming season. Think he'll bein the UCL prem by Christmas if he stays at PNS.

Blimey, we have not even started the season and we have a couple of moneybags PNS posts already.
Did say last year that I was not going to discuss finances as I was on a hiding to nothing, but would rather come right out from the start this year and confirm that our good friend CorbyKen (we think we know who you are by the way) is right on the money.
It remains our (In fact my) business really, but would rather discuss football on this forum than constantly batting back rumours on money, so can confirm that £12k funding (£400 a game in league) for players wages is in place for the season through a sponsorship deal with my company.
I rather hope that this will put this to bed (Bob Hope!) but if you hear anything different to this, I am afraid it will not be true. Will now go back to NEVER commenting on rumours on finances real of ficticious and looking forward to getting on with football on Saturday.
Win, lose or draw on Saturday we have had a good pre-season and Plums appears to have created a team spirit way beyond what I achieved in my 2 years as manager so our respective moves might well have been the right ones.
