I agree with thepinkun chap - It is without doubt the worst pitch in the league at whatever time of the year you play...It is an awful surface. The clubhouse building is ok although not very welcoming but the pitch and the wind up there is a joke as it is so open. The staff at Huntingdon with the exception of the guy on the bench with the worst wiggy haircut in the league are always very accomodating and nice people. Dont kid yourself that it is premier standard.....its not by a long way just because of new changing rooms.

'hopewewin', i think your comments are slighty harsh about saying that 'Dont Kid yourself that it premier standard'. A lot of time, money & effort has gone into trying to push Huntingdon Town FC as far as they can go & they are, slowly, making good progress. I do agree about the state of the pitch but their neighbours St Ives Town have an even worser playing surface. The best pitch around Huntingdonshire is a side that i think play in the Cambs League & that is Needingworth FC. Clubhouse at Huntingdon is also good standard.

Do you think the pitch is a factor to Huntingdon NOT getting promoted? As weaker teams coming there are then on a level playing field (no pun intended) as the surface is so bad?

also, is there any danger of the website ever being updated? Pictures, latest news, new signings etc etc.

returner, in response to your question on 'weaker' teams getting a level playing field at Huntingdon, Hunts only lost three games at home last season whilst only winning 4 away. Kind of indicates, if your logic is to be believed, that they would be rated as one of those 'weaker' teams!

Er no it doesn't. I asked whether or not it was a factor in huntingdon not getting promoted!

yes, you are right you did, but I thought (maybe wrongly?!) that you were insinuating that could be as a result of the rubbish pitch at huntingdon meaning 'weaker' teams would stand more of a chance of winning. All I was pointing out was that, in fact, the opposite was actually true and that last season Huntingdon were much more formidable at home than they were away. In fact, having played against Huntingdon home and away last year, I would have to say that this was my experience of playing them, considerably better on their terrible pitch than when faced on a better surface.

Is there a huntingdon town representative on this forum who could perhaps update a squad list?
